Virus Kb issue installing new OS

Hello all,
I recently purchased a used Virus Kb which has OS version 4.7 on it and it seems to work fine with that OS.

I want to upgrade to the current OS to get the additional banks and have tried updating it several times in different ways. I'm using ProTools 10 to send the midi OS update and it seems to update fine however when I play the keys using OS 4.8 or 4.9 something weird happens and they don't play correctly. Either notes don't play at all or they get stuck on. If I had to guess I would say theres an issue with the Polyphony maybe? but that wouldn't explain the notes getting stuck on.

I've tried updating it several times going directly to OS 4.9 or updating to 4.8 then to 4.9 and when I go back to OS 4.7 the keyboard works fine but if I update to 4.8 or 4.9 the same thing happens every time and the keys go wonkey. Has anyone experienced this ?? or have any idea how I can update the OS without getting this weird bug?
