Midi expression pedal only covers half the range of the filter

I assigned an expression pedal to control the filter of the virus, however it only covers a range from 67-127.... i have tried over and over starting with the pedal in both full up and down positions but each time i get the same result...

It's a pretty well-known problem; many expression pedals are not electrically compatible with the Virus. The Yamaha FC7 is compatible, i.e., it will cover the whole range. AFAIK there are no Roland pedals that work properly (as expression pedals) with it.
