Default Your favorite outboard gear 4 the Virus

I have a little GAS attack about outboard equipment, but the choices are many and some are very expensive...

I would like to know what is your outboard effect/rack/whatever that you like the most to spice up your Virus.

Please specify what is the result that you have compared to the original sound.

only use plugins for additional FX:

Waves H-Delay (think this is a deep delay)
Eventide Blackhole (a very spacy reverb)
U-he Ubik-G (Granular pitch shifter....xtrem wild!)
Fab Filter Pro Q2 (EQ)

+ i use the Virus Reverb/phaser and Virus Chorus/delay on a midi controler (Novation Launchcontrol XL & NI Maschine Jam)

The Virus itself as an effect is very good; I have a Launchcontrol XL .... should try to map the effects to it as you.

When I think about outboard gear I think about something to change the timbre, to modify the color of the sound.

The plugins are of course excellent for that, maybe I'm searching for something special that a plugin can't give.
