What virus model do you have?
If you have virus c I think there will be alot of Os updates to fix this problems.
Best wishes
I have the indigo b-with the most recent OS
its definitely some kind of HardWare Problem

This is the first i've heard of a defective Virus (except the German manual thing that just never stops). Where did you get it? Can you exchange it for a new one?
I had a Supernova 2 (I just Ebay'd it) and I can honestly say (IMHO only) the Virus is much better. I don't think you could get another piece of gear that's better. Maybe the Q+ :D But... Anywho good luck with whatever U decide!!!! :D

Send it back and try again. When I got my first Virus there were screws hanging out and the wooden ends were scratched - the store tried to screw me with an ex-demo model  Got one froma different supplier - perfect!

Don?t change it for other gear (unless you?ve changed your mind about the virus). Just get a new virus. It?s a killer synth. You can?t get another like it. It?s definetly a must buy. Your problems are very unusual. You have just had a broken one. Don?t lose your faith on access. They have extremely working products and they will fix all the OS broblems as well (if you are conserned about them). If you don?t have polyphony problems buy the B and use the rest of the money on other gear. You can still get a new B from some retailers (like thomann: www.thomann.de ). I personally like the C cos? it has better control. And I wouldn?t manage without the extra polyphony. It is a bit expensive thou.
I returned the Indigo  not a happy day. I thinkit was a little too expensive for me. I got an RME Hammerfall and a pair of event 20/20's about 3 months ago instead. I also got a better computer and can run a couple software samplers, 4 Reaktors, many ES2's and that makes up for not having a virus - somewhat anyway

Last week I bought a Virus C. After i tried it for 1 hour it crashed, so i
installed OS 5.00 229 and it crashed again and again and again.
Yesterday i got a new one from the store and what do you think after 1.5
hours it crashed again. In the store they tested a 3rd one for the afternoon
with no problems. So i'm going to collect this one next week.
I think there Virus C's which contain a virus inside.
But they say good things come in 3.
Greetings Paihia.

Man........comparing the virus to softsynths? There is absolutely No comparison between native based softsynths, using the host for processing, and a dedicated outboard DSP MONSTER like the Virus!!!!!
Poor guy....... :)
I'd rather have a computer full o' softsynths that A Virus. Call me crazy or versatile or cheap . but don't feel sorry for me.

Thats ok Sam, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you feel that you can navigate a softsynth with the same level of ease....and you think its sounds just as good.....then thats all that matters.
Personally I would not wipe my arse with computer based softsynths. In my opinion, the lack of a hardware synth (Virtual or true analog) is going to damage your music. With every softsynth Ive ever tried I have found the experience to be boring and ultimately not sounding that good. Analog is a very expressive form of synthesis......totally killed within a strict computer domain.
Do urself a favour.....u dont need 5 softsynths......get 2 and save up for a 2nd hand true analog mono or VA.
