*picks up jaw off the floor*

i got my indigo 2 on saturday. i cant even put into words how impressed i am. someone told me it was a good syth for what i was looking for. that may be the understatement of the year.

to my suprise the 3rd sound i heard outta my new, and soon to be only, friend was the *obviously* A003 patch. the SCREAM bassline patch. that sold me within seconds of messing with the cutoff.

i guess im just really suprised at how biting this synth can be. VERY impressive fx also. probably the cleanest ive ever heard.

this may be a good trance synt but its excellent for bass and harsh, metalesque sounds. great for any jungle/bass enthusiast.

nice community you have here, too. always nice to know theres a place like this. hope you let me stay. 8O

"wicked machines arent they!!"

thats putting it lightly! :) have you even started with trying to make your own sounds yet? im still absolutley infatuated with the presets! ill make nice with the manual and the details later. right now i have to exercise my right to make loud and abusive tunes!! :D

"Im glad you enjoyed that patch i made"

what what WHAAAAT? you made that patch? or is this like some kinda rookie joke and yer yankin my crank...?

:p in any case that thing is heavy.

im currently using fruity loops for all midi implications (dont laugh its more powerful than it used to be). if i can figure out how to record knob tweaks *ie NOT playing it live* then apply them ill be in heaven. :)

and to those of you waiting for yours to arrive, all i can say is its well worth the wait so dont stress it. ive been wanting a virus synth for some time now and now that its finally here its made it all worth while. i trust youll think the same thing. :)

hey man no one is going to laugh at u for using fruityloops...they already laughed at me

Just remember yeah u can make your knob tweaks and set up a dashboard...but there is only one sync output...so if u have more synths u have to use midi yoke and midi ox...which is absolutely bullshit because any like read off the computer chugs FL studio!!

DS you didnt make that preset...heck u didnt even have your virus then!! unless im completely mistaken...some1 else back me up on this? other then DS...as i remember u hadnt made that many sounds...let alone sent them to Access to be selected for the presets update...but i will say u really had him believing u...honestly i dont even know what sound u r talking about...

Hehe, nah, am just mightily jealous that I haven't currently got a Virus, but am (ever so) slowly pooling my finances towards one! But then again another Access synth may've come out by the time I've saved enough, knowing me! hehe  ... So am just posting my all-in-one synth Christmas 'wish-list' early, for Santa and Access to mull over... hehe ;)

Take care happy ppl!, :D

yep, im went thru the presets quickly, tweeking the good ones as i went and copying them over the ones i didnt like so much....i had a few months to read the manual before i got the VC, so i was straight into tweeking, routing and rerouting sounds in the first few hours....

See.. Now you know what the "C" stand for.

i actually took classes off this week, just so i could play with it!!

Timo

if you look closely, u may be able to see my dribble marks on the C....when u smile for hours endlessly, some dribble is bound to come out!! hehe

and marc...im sure u will agree after reading timo's first link...the Virus PLAGUE is the name of choice for the next virus in the series....hehehe

FLstudio has multipule outputs for midi...which is not the problem...but if u want your virus and other synths tho sync up to the tempo u have to have midiox and midi yoke installed...thats the problem...if u r not going to sync them to tempo...which i am...then u will have a problem...

understand now?

gotcha. ;)

actually i understood that the first time... but i was having a hard time wrapping my nugget around "which is absolutely bullshit because any like read off the computer chugs FL studio!! " what that meant. :p

2 questions though. if youre using FL for MIDI and you wanna use 2 synths can you not just route your sound cards midi out to the virus in, then the virus through to, say, the Q in and assign each their own channel?

secondly if the above is accurate would you not just be able to assign eacho channel a pattern in FL? im not sure why you would have to sync the synths if FL does it for you. or is that way off base?

"congrats! just out of interest, which sound is on A003 in your machine? "

i think its called SCREAM. if you listen to or heard of twisted individual its a lot like his basslines... or even moreso subwave *on tech itchs label*. its the REALLY distorted groooooooooooowling bassline.

FL studio doesnt automaticly sync your synths up...and i dont sync them with eachother i sync them to the computer...FL will sync your synths if u assign them to all one source like say... routing through your thru on your virus and setting it to there own channel...if u want to do this go ahead...but do note the virus is a 16 part synth and im not sure what the Q is, i think 16 parts also..so if u would like to only use your synths at half efficiency then go ahead but i like using all my synths to there full potential if i want so for every part i want it on its own channel, therefore since there is only 16 channels in 1 midi source i need mulipule sources which i cannot sync because FL studio only has one sync output...therefore midiox and midi yoke r my only options if i want to use FLstudio...i already talked to imageline, they told me to go with another piece of software because they rnt ever going to put midi into there software, (and yes they do have midi now) such as what im talkin about...they were quite rude to me actually...and never answered my last reply...every1 i have talked to about this...including programmers said that it is ridiculous that they dont want to add midi to FLstudio, because it would be so easy, and its the only thing they r lacking...dont ask me ask them...

Marc ... Marc Schlaile ... right?? I didn't know you were a member of this board. I just rejoined the Access email list after a 2 year break, and there doesn't seem to be much traffic on it anymore. In fact one of the reasons I unsubscribed in the first place was because of the huge amount of mail being placed in my account from the list, and I always longed for somewhere like this. Is this place the main hangout these days, or where do Ben Crosland et al hang?

Virus C is fantastic, I put the speakers on my window sill on a Sunday afternoon when my neighbour's mowing the lawn. Then I just keep pressing the random button.

Seriously though, I'm starting to get some pretty good stuff down on Cubase VST and have a few patches I'm working on. I'm going to share them with you in a week or two you lucky b******S!!

i've only subscribed a couple of days ago. you're right, the AMPFEA list is a bit calm these days but keeping in mind what a fantasic summer we have in europe i don't blame people for not checking their inbox to often. ben, howard, matt, mathew and most of our main programmers are still on the AMPFEA list.

as for access, we go where our users are :) i can't promise that i'll answer questions quickly here but i'll try. in case you guys have some urgent questions the chance of getting an answer quick is higher on the mailing lists since they directly arrive in my inbox.

marc

ps. by the way: thanks daniel, for setting up the forum! i owe you a beer next time on frankfurt music show ;)

im on the mailing list too...but i never reply, and lately i never even read them....everything that ive had questions about has been answered here...so im too lazy to move!!
