what sequencer do i want?

hey. i'm new to this electronic music thing. i'm looking for ideas on what sequencer/sampler i should buy. looking for something that:
a)can sample audio signal from my bass
b)has hands-free sampling/looping ability
c)is easy to use (being that i'm new to this- and a little slow besides)
looking for something that's good for improv. thanks.

Forget Korg-rubbish if you're looking for sequencer and sampler.

hey, thanks all. the akai is what i'm leaning toward. i was hoping to find a more affordable option, but i guess you get what you pay for. guess i just need a second job.

Look for a mpc1000 in the near future. Should be more affordable. You can see mpc1000.com. I'm waiting to see what kind of user reviews it would get.

And of course there's a chance to get MPC's second-hand with very affordable price.

It is expensive, but it is a good centerpiece to a set up. Great sequencer and a good sampler. Realtime midi record! Two midi inputs and outputs, individual audio outputs. I'm going to go for that instead of a Korg sx1, I'm thinking. Waiting for reviews in the future.

I don't think they have direct audio manipulation on any akai product. They have input to record samples.
