What is the easist way to upgrade os?

Hi to all

I am new to the Virus C and was looking for the best way and least costly way to upgrade from OS 5.5 to 6.0. I am running a PC w/windows XP. Will midiox work or is there some other simple program that will work without too much trouble. I plan on running the Virus as a stand alone so I don't want Sonar/Cubase or anything like that right now.

Some ppl on here have expressed their dissatisfaction with 6.0. So not sure if it is worth the upgrade? Are the menu shortcuts and the Pure Tune worth it?

I can tell you my audiophile 2496 does NOT want to work at all with this update.....it apparently is ALOT of information, and the buffers aren't big enough to handle the request....
I tried, midi ox (which seems to be an awesome and VERY easy tool to use), sound diver, fl studio, etc etc

My 2x2 MIDISport had zero issues, when sending updates with Windows Media Player.

ok for the access folks, if I send these two files over, it should just rewrite the OS right over correct?
(I have a friend who will help me load these, and I am wanting to make sure, we just load the midi files and hit play)

so, will it just overwrite the original OS files? (meaning send the first midi first, it does whatever it does, then the second file, it restarts........we are good to go?)

Yup, nothing to worry about. Takes a few minutes to send though.

I recommend you reset your Virus when it reboots too.

Wait for few seconds before turning it back on.

There should be no problems. If you encounter trouble just drop down the tempo (but that can't be done on Mediaplayer).

ok cool guys....reset after it turns back on, as in holding the shape key down reset, or just re power it again?

no, just installing is fine. the virus is not like a PC where you have to exchange and update files. the ROM is rather like a harddisk you format and then you write on it again
