Hi!

I am trying to load OS 4.8.0 into my Virus b rack (OS 4.5.1 s, currently)

I am using Cubase SL 1.06.

I have my computer hooked directly MIDI I/O into the Virus.

I loaded up the 4.80s Virus OS update (single file--not chunk)

In the Virus I have turned off the MIDI clock, set it to Global MIDI channel 1, and set MIDI RX to enable. Cubase has the MIDI file in a lane set to channel 1, also.

When I hit play in Cubase, the Virus displays what looks to be a tiny "S E" (half the pont size of the other LCD characters) along with the MIDI DUMP RX menu header:

1 S E MIDI DUMP RX
ENABLE

After the MIDI file plays through--nothing: No FAIL, no OK, nothing.

Can anyone help me, please? I've checked the manual, the access-music.de FAQ as well as the HTML files that came with the OS update.

Needless to say, this is my first OS via MIDI upgrade. Thanks in advance.

best-

About the MIDI clock in Cubase--I'll check that. Did the 60 bpm thing already, though.

What kind of midi interface do you have?

Echo Mia MIDI for OS X, which is where I'm Virusing and Cubasing.

I use a Delta AP 2496 in OS 9. There were longstanding OS X driver issues with this, so I got the Mia for OS X. Then M-Audio (finally!) put out an OS X patch...that I've never used.

Do you get the counting of the numbers as you press play or is there nothing showing on the virus screen. I think the SE is normal.

(I may be wrong but you should have LOW PAGE at Sysex.)

When I've dumped SysEx, I get the numbers/counting.

When I try to upload into the Virus, I get nothing. The only thing different on the display is the "SE".
