Does someone has it? Is it worth getting? I'm not able to test it myself so I'd like to hear your comments.

i owned a triton for over 2 years..sold it to buy a Karma..

It's a great workstation.. Very polished sounds..excellent at both realistic and analogue.. Pianos are week in my opinion..

with the addition of a moss board, it's like having a Korg Z1 on steroids :D

Pretty much an all in one solution, great touch screen, super sequencer, very good sampler (make sure you upgrade to atleast os2.5)..

I used it mainly as main controller and the keyboard action is great..

Hmm... The other one I was thinking is Roland Fantom-S. That would also be not-so-bad solution. I think Fantom has bigger ROM sound memory.

yeah.. i agree they are pretty much head to head..

it would come down to your own preference really.. roland v korg..

I dont think the phantom has touch screen though if that is a factor

Touch screen is just a bonus feature. I base my decision on the sounds. At least I think Fantom sounds better, but then again it's hard to say without testing one. Local music store has only Triton LE so no change to test Triton and Fantom.

In addition all the sound demos I've found on Triton and Fantom are flat and boring except one Fantom clip with piano. At least piano is great on Fantom.

Just thinking that does Triton have any kind of ethnic instruments on the ROM?

yeah it does..

to be honest though i couldn't comment on them as it isn't my genre..

I'll be mostly using piano, flute, hammond, rhodes, clavinet, bass and some electric drums. So those are the important sounds. The rest of the sounds are used not-so-often.

Damn. I'm in the same situation as I were when buying a VA. No where to test them and just have to rely on sound samples and other people's comments.

My friend got Motif (got it for a borrow from music store until the ES arrives) yesterday and I think that sounded quite good so the ES will be quite a monster.

I decided to get Fantom-S. Just have to fight the price down from inhuman levels. It's quite nice that selling my Virus kB I'll get Fantom-S and Nord Modular with one or two hundred euros extra investment.

I couldn't live without a VA. Gaah! I want my hands on that Fantom asap! The last GAS cramps.

It's really annoying that every time I intent to quote I'll click edit. Those buttons should be other way around.

I think when I'll get the Fantom, I'll be really happy. When I'll get the Modular I have all I need. I offered a bit over 1000,- for the Fantom due the fact that Roland has reduced the price of Fantom-S to about 1400,-. I hope he agrees.

I don't think I will. Modular is like a heaven for me. No restrictions anymore. Maybe the editing is something I'll have to get used to. No more intuitive hands on programming.

The Triton's are now able to be upgraded with the KARMA fancy goodies, by the way.

I'd take a Triton over a Fantom, Juho. Although those ES models are meant to kick arse... hurm.

1. No money for upgrades
2. I don't need the fancy Karma goodies
3. Fantom-S has better ROM samples

I'm going to buy the synth second hand so no chance to get my hands on Motif ES. I fancy Fantom-S sound.

I did some research and noticed that Roland XV5050 has incredibly good sound! It seems to have mostly the same sounds than Fantom-S does. It doesn't do sampling like a workstation would do, but I really don't need the sampling because Kontakt is enough for sampling. Anyone in here have any XV-series modules? I could have one for 600 euros so it would be a real bargain!

Hoho. No. Where you got the information that JV2010 sounds better than XV5050?
