Just borrowed/am buying a Virus and man, I'm blown away with the abilities of this monster. I looked at the Virus when it came out in 98 and wasn't too impressed. I'm an analogue synth kind of guy, but have recently started to sell off my collection. I needed something more reliable and space has become an issue.
A friend tells me he is selling his Virus b so I asked to borrow it. I got it on Friday and haven't stopped messing with it. A very complex machine that needs a few more knobs on the panel with all the parameters - Sound Diver helps, but being tied to the computer does not thrill me.
Anyway, I am enjoying this machine and it helps to cover some of my lost "Church of Roland" sounds and is even going to replace my staple machine, the Juno 106 - it I can get some of my trademark sounds from it.
I write dub ambient trance in a Plastikman meets Fax Label circa 1994. What can I say, I'm old.
