im looking for feedback!!!

ive been searching the net but i cant seem to find feedback samples....none of my CDs have feedback and the only thing i can find on the net close to feedback is white noise and pink noise (although they arent close to feedback at all 8O )...

so if any of you guys have any...or you know a site that has feedback samples...please let me know..

The only thing I could say is make it yourself. I'm not sure exactly what kind of feedback you are looking for. Usually it is noise. That's what noise groups do. They make noise and play noise with things like feedback. You can make it in your mixer.

Also have you tried using some delay with combfilters to get feedback sounds. Its not really like guitar feedback but its different. :D

Hollowcell,

There is a great little VSTi called Slayer which generates all kinds of guitar sounds, feedback amongst them!

Don't know if you are using a VST sequencer but definately worth testing a demo if you are.

The moment you press a key on your controller you can play guitar like the pros, from Eric Clapton thru to Slash!

You can get some bird sounds from a modulated chorus pedal.

I still say make them yourself. Get yerself a guitar or just the pickup and some strings. Face it towards the amp or whatever is your sound producer.

Just sample a clip from a live album from like My Bloody Valentine or God Speed You! Black Emperor or better yet since you are in Japan go see some guitar monsters like Merzbow or Acid Mother Temple and bring a mini disk. There are tons of people doing noise and guitar art in Japan.

Dont get slayer 2. Its the biggest pile of horse shit ever.

Slayer 1 is ok. But for a good guitar sounding vst it has to be Hardcore Bass VstI by East West.

i hadnt thought of using one of the VST guit thingys!! i wouldnt use a VST for guitar sounds fully..i just want the feedback...so i thinkn ill give it a try! thanks martyn.....cant beat real guitars for guitar sounds IMO....one more thing i cant afford to bring over from ausi-my guitar!!

unfortunately i dont have access to a guitar over here..although ive been recording a friends bass....but he doesnt have a decnt bass rig to feedback on...the only time i record his bass, i run him thru a preamp then straight into the desk! plus - the only amps i have are in both my monitor speakers (and of course a little valve preamp)! im not sure if its a good idea to feedback bi-amped monitors....although id probably get a fresh new sound....

yeh i thought about sampling off an album..but it would just be easier to get it off the net IMO....ill keep on looking....and ill experiment today with some stuff me thinks!

Why don't you just take a mic and stick it near a speaker. Just control the feedback with mixer volume. There you have a feedback loop.

Uhm, if i could get my brother to get my electric guitar + amp i could probably sample some feedback to you - distortionfeedback - and loads of it..

I could also fix the little tone-control on it, since when i built it i didnt wanna spend to much time with the electrics since i was really late with it and had to perform for my school with it.. so i just made the basic - it features a cutoff + resonance control acctually :)

Distorted feedback.

Edit: Played around with distortions and mic and remembered that you were looking for this kind of sound.

Still needing it?

That's one minute clip full of feedback.

Edit 2: Very nice when listened with headphones. Felt like there's a feedback loop in my brains. I listened to it woth low volume and still I got a headache. Sick!

It's not loud feedback. It's limited by a distortion so it's constant scream. But it does cause headache even on low volume.

I recorded a longer clip so that you can take the parts you like (especially those where the feedback frequency changes) and loop them.
