Today I received a package with a second hand Virus A, but when I opened it there was no Virus A. Instead I found the Virus Rack! The guy I purchased it from hadn't specified exactly that he sold the Rack, or maybe I'm just stupid and don't understand Virus talk. A lot more futures but harder to edit I suppose.
What's your opinion? Am I tricked or is it a good piece of business? However, the synth sounds fabulous to me. I'm infected for lifetime. :D ?

Well, the rack is more like the Virus B (assuming you just got the classic rack, and not the XL); but with less knobs. I play w/ a classic rack and a Virus C desktop, I think the classic rack is a great piece and an excellent value. Lots of bang for your buck, for sure. I wouldn't be disappointed; it's still a really cool instrument that's making very close to the same sounds...

Yes it's the Classic version. So you use both the Rack Classic and the Virus C, how come? I thought the C is everything you need?

Its all depends how much he paid for it :? I was browsing eBay to find out for reasonable prices to sell my Virus B, and prices there are very misleading. People put it for sale with a very low starting bid and sale goes for 5-6 days. Than, next week, its for sale again? Until someone told me that those people put a hidden reserve price which most of the time is ridiculous, and since nobody ever reaches that price, its never sold off. Also, other people, don't include the actual picture of their synth (common, everybody got digital camers today), instead it a picture from the access virus webpage. So, you don't know exactly what are you buying, until you get that package and open it to your surprise.

Well, all truth be told even the Classic is everything you need if you're being resourceful. I guess I just like the gear. I might even buy a Virus KB this week for $500 (hahaha).

Well, I paid about 530 USD, (swedish money actually). The price for a new one in sweden is about 1700 USD. I suppose since the VIRUS RACK actually offers a lot more features than he original VIRUS A it was a good deal. If you had the chance to purchase a rack classic version or an A, for the same money, isn't the Rack a better alternative?
