Do I need a Roland JV to make dance music?

I'm making dance/trance music and have a Access Virus B and a Yamaha EX 5, which works fine. Now I like to get some new influences and maybe purchase one more sound module. If it's pretty cheap thet's very ok to me. I've visited homepages of Armin van Buuren, paul van dyke etc. to figure out what equipment they use, but they have at least like 30 different synths. Any suggestions? What about the Roland JV series?

Well, the JV's are the best romplers on that price range (about 300?). I'd suggest you to purchase Roland modules, because they offer you the best value for your money.

But what about the sounds? For me Roland = Pop music. Can they do something else? I don't live near a music shop so there's no possibility to try it. And the demos, like most demos, on Rolands homepage sucks.

For me Roland = Pop music.

Roland = basic rompler.

All the romplers are meant to be a wide array of sampled instruments/sounds. It's not only for pop music, it's for all kind of productions which need sampled instruments. And every studio should have a decent rompler.

I can say JV is the best rompler module on it's price range, but as always you can't get the best with 300,-. If you want the best rompler module on Earth spare some money and get Roland XV3050/XV5050/XV5080.
