Analogue Bass

Alright Everyone, Looking for some advice on a possible addition to the home setup.

I've got the JP8000 and the Virus as my main synths but I really fancy a real analogue 303 type sound in my setup now so I was thinking of getting one of those FAT Freebass's or a MAM MB 33 which are meant to be pretty good and they are dirt cheap as well which is an extra bonus.

Has anyone checked these out in the past or got one? Are they any good. Or do you reckon I should forget that and add some real instrument sounds to my setup such as a roland xv 5050 or something?

Get that XV5050 if you don't have a decent/good rompler already.

Yeah I was thinking that just after I posted my text, I've got the following list of items below so I am VA'd to the max so I guess the Freebass would be a waste of money. Besides the EA1 is a good dedicated analogue type bass synth(as are the Virus and JP). The only thing I am really missing as you said is a rompler or maybe even a sampler like an older akai and some sample CD's.

i think you can do just find with digital synths at the moment as analogs emulators...

Get yourself a cheap sh101. Its true analog and covers 303 ground

they are realy cheap about 200 euro 2nd hand i think

But is there really a need for another analog/VA machine than rompler? I bet that Hardmandez can cope without another analog/VA but as I said a rompler is a must-have.

I bet that you might have more need for sampled instruments than more analog sounds.

I think your right some decent sampler/rompler sounds are what I should be going for next. I guess having some good va's is a must for my kind of music but without getting a set of general type sounds I'm going to be limited to the same old sound.

I think I might save up a little bit more for a decent rompler like the xv5050 or something like a triton or even a jv1080.
