My synth collection has grown over the last months, and now there's not just one, but three synths in the rack! I use Cubase VST/32 and wonder how to setup my system. Is there a way to get more than 16 midichannels in the program, or do I have to buy a midiinterface or something? Any other recommendations on how to setup the system?

On one MIDI cable there can be only 16 channels. You will have to buy multi port midi interface. There are tricks like limiting the key range of a sound but you will find this very uncomfortable (well, at least in these days, ask me how it was 15 years ago  )
Try to think forward and have an IN and OUT for each of your devices and that you will by at least 2 others

I've had good luck with the MOTU MicroLite. It's a bare-bones interface but it works well for my needs. I'm about to buy another 8-channel MOTU midi interface (and an additional USB card to hook it to .... I've run out or USB ports).
Each of it's 5 midi ports is capable of sending and receiving 16 channels of MIDI. Right now, I'm working 16 channels out of port 1, 2, and 3 and sending only one channel of midi through ports 4 and 5.
Additionally, I have two more USB midi ports for my UC16 and my PodXT.
Go nuts!!! They're only like about $130 apiece.
