View Full Version : UK Power supply??
Hi guys,
I've just received my Virus B ( :D :D :D )
but it came with a German power supply! Doh!
Can anyone in the UK tell me what exactly I need?
I have a 12V DC 800mA adapter... would that kill my Virus? I see it wants 12VDC / 500mA.
The last thing I want to do is hurt my Virus!
Thanks!!

I have the same kind of adapter for my rack classic. The mA has to be equal or greater than 500mA for virus. So your 800mA adapter won?t harm your virus. The volts are only thing to worry about. If you plug a 15V adapter to your virus it can make serious damage.

Juho's tip of the week: Check the polarity. Some of the adapters have a plus on the ring and the other have ground on the ring. So watch out to not plug in a reverse polarity DC. Virus is probably protected from the reverse DC with a diode, but still watch out.
thanks guys.
unio mystica - someone was telling me my 800mA adapter would be fine and you confirmed it for me.
And Juho - I know about polarity... I expect the Virus is protected but the last thing I wanted was to fry my baby! I was taking no chances, don't worry! :D
Enjoying my Virus B,

Just checking. Some people only check the voltage amount and then break their equipment. I've seen many cases like that. Well, usually all the more expensive and high quality equipment has a reverse DC protection but most of the consumer products don't.

It does *phew*
