hi everyone

did a search but i cant seem to find an answer to this problem..

i have a virus a that i bought 2nd hand a few months ago...it came with OS 2.5 and some sounds the previous owner had saved into it etc...some time ago i upgraded to OS 2.8, but went back to 2.5 as my 2.5 soundset wasnt compatible with 2.8 OS(or so i thought..)...id get these ugly popping and clicking noises, so i figured it was a compatibility issue and went back to 2.5

i recently re-upgraded to OS 2.8(the newest one available) in order to take advantage of the better arpeggiator functions etc. i also loaded in the 2.8 soundset, so i was thinking it would be smooth sailing for me this time..

since i upgraded to 2.8, the virus is more or less useless. i get pops and crackles quite often..moreso when im playing a chord or doing anything that requires the virus to use more voices...

occasionally it will simply die out, with no sounds coming from it til i turn it off and on. sometimes it even gets stuck "on", playing an awful distorted screech noise which isnt nice for my monitors OR my ears...

ive reinstalled both the OS and the soundset several times, and ive initialized it quite a few times as well. ive also sent email to acess' tech support(who i was told were quite awesome) but have yet to receive a reply(i sent the email about 2.5 weeks ago..)

anyone here familiar with a problem like this or have any suggestions as to how to remedy it??

thanks for your time
