Hi, can any lovely person tell me the key differences between these two and which would be best to get? For example, what would be the point of buying a nord lead when you can do so many different sounds with the modular?

many thanks!

the nl is a hands on synth
its meant to program complex sounds in minutes
the nm needs more time to program and you have less knob controll for programing after you hock it off the computer something you wont realy do if your going to use it only inside your studio.
acually i would get the nord modular insted of the nord lead because it can do 50 times more stuff then the nl in thory and im sure its also in action just ask juho... :o

If you already own Virus I'd advice you to get Modular or G2. You can get the basic stuff from Virus and use the Modular/G2 for special and more complex sounds. Much better combination in my opinion than Virus & NL3.

I'd agree too.

Go for the G2! - although I do own a NL2 myself.

I bought the Lead2 before I was using a computer for music at all. If I had the choice again, I would have gone for the modular.

What sound qualities does the Nord Modular G2 have? How does it compare to the Virus C? Also, is it a pain to program? I'm quite interested in getting one, it sounds really deep but possibly too much accent on programming and less on actually making tunes, am I right?
