Alright Everyone,
I was wondering if there are any MC202 users here. I have the chance of buying one at a reasonable price. I hear they are pretty good what do you that own them think of them, do you use them much.
I don't really need it but like most here I like buying synths and fancy a true analogue. I don't even have any more room really but was thinking about selling my EA1 to free some cash and make some space. I was also thinking the 202 is battery driven as well so I can work on some mad acid type riffs when I am travelling with my work.
Cheers

for how much can you get on?
i heard its about the same as the tb303 in matter of filter sound but just has some extras which is realy nice
if the price is good enough and you wont realy find use for it you can get around 700-1000 $ for it about the same as the tb price range

Ahhh, the analogue bug bites again! :D
Go to this site and look for the MC202
http://www.vintagesynth.org/
There is a cool little demo of what it sounds like. They say it sounds like a mix of a TB303 and SH101 - I'd agree. I don't own one though and honestly I would only buy one for cheap (because no keyboard).
Also, I'm not sure how you could sync it though. I'm guessing the Bass-station you have would do the trick, but if I were you I'd look into that before hand.
So how much can you get it for?

I can get it for $290/235EURO. I guess at that price it's a steel. I was thinking to sync it I could propapbly sync it off my 606 which gets synced via my kenton pro solo.

Sounds like a good price for sure. Is it all working OK? Noisy pots or sliders?

Perfect!
That's the only reason I wouldn't get one - I wouldn't be able to sync it, so I wanna get stuff that has keyboards.
I'm looking forward to hearing some sounds you get from it!

Whether it is 100% OK i am waiting confirmation on. The odd mark on the casing is about it, performance wise it is apparently 100%
Its a blind buy on the internet though and I am a trusting fool haven't commited myself to anything yet though I think I will just go for it though.

how r u getting him the money...because u have to watch for scammers...also i dont know where u buy your synths tomer but they go for about 250 usd to 450 at most...if some1 bought one at 700 they would be absolutely psycho same goes for the tb303...i dont know if any of u played Diablo 2 at all but on there they have this ring called a soj or something to that extent...well its currency in the game...you have to buy them for like extreme amounts of money and they r worth dick...well the tb303 is just like that...it might be a good synth but its not worth a 1000 and the more ppl stop buying them the lower the price will go...

If it's working well, I think that price is quite good. They along with the SH101s are starting to get expensive even in Japan.
As far as buying from the net and the risk it has...well...have to be carefull I think. Over here in the Japan the most common way is dirrect deposit into bank accounts! 8O So I read up on the seller in a lot of detail first, but I still shit my pants waiting!
Good luck with it!

While we are on the topic of older gear...
How much do Korg MS10s and Roland SH2s go for where u guys are?
I'm looking at a mint MS10 and really good (basicly mint) SH2 with a hardcaes and manual at the moment. The MS10 has the manual too.

Well I didn't end up getting the MS10. It was a great one though. It was what they call a 'beauty item' - which means it didn't even have a finger print on it! It went for 28500yen. I was only prepared to go to 25000. To give you an idea of beauty item status - that CS10 I bought wasn't even close, but you would be hard pressed to find a mark on it.
MS20s fetch really high prices here at the moment.
The SH2 looks really good, but they mentioned something about a slow LFO that I can't understand fully. I'll get my wife translate later. She knows heaps about synths now, hehe.

Haven't made my mind up yet I usually like to try before I buy. It is still available though.
This making music stuff turns you into a synthoholic. It's like you know you don't really need another one but you just want one, it's like I MUST HAVE MORE SOUNDS. Saying that I definately want a real analogue. I 'll let you know how I get on.

the only that controls this forum members from becoming fully synthaholic is the lack of cash :D i think
personaly thats the only thing that keeps me from buying every synth that was ever made
so hope i wont ever win the loto and earn a lagre amount of money
