I recently purchased a brand new Virus KC. I've hooked up the main outputs (Out 1) in stereo; however it is only transmitting sound in mono. I've read the manual but I'm kind of confused and not very smart. Is there any way to check an internal setting or is it possible the Virus is damaged? Note: When I plug my headphones in I only hear sound in my right ear.

Something is fucked up inside the synth. I think it?s a hardware problem rather than a software one. Why don?t you ask access what you should do?

somewhere in the patch params you can chose which output to root your sound to... you can chose Outpput1 L+R, Or Output1 L or Out1 R or Out2 L+R etc etc
be sure you are routing your sound to Output1 L+R, the main outs... if it is ok and the problem persists then as unio said, it may be a hardware problem

I already went back and forth with Access tech support and I don't think he understood my problem. Again, I'm not the smartest guy ever, could somebody tell me what I have to push to get into the patch parameters menu. I've gone through all the edits and the System Multi Edit functions and I'm lost. I think there's a chance my main out settings are set to R only. All help is greatly appreciated.

I'm at work now, so when I get home I will give you the page number of the manual to look at.
Hopefully it will be sorted once you know how to select out-put modes.

i'm not aware of a setting which allows the virus to send to out 1L or out 1R exclusively. you can do this in multimode but not in singlemode
i'd reset the virus first (power on+hold LFO1 SHAPE button). the i'd check if i'm in singlemode. if not, i'd select the singlemode. now, a stereo signal should come out of 1 R+L.
an easy way to check if both outputs are working is to remove one of the 2 jacks and if the signal is still there, the output works (you need to do this test with both L and R)
if this all doesn't help i'd say you have a hardware problem
hope that helps, marc

Here is the page number I promised too by the way. Everything you need to know about out-put configs is on pages 110 and 111.
As marc said though, these configs are used in Mulit-mode, so make sure you are in single first.
Good luck!

just a possibility, your headphones might be damaged. try pulling the headphone cord out of the socket a little and see if you can hear out of both sides....just a thought. hope you get it working

Sometimes if you use cheap headphones or cheap cables....u might even get a duff one.
Re-install the latest Operating System into the Virus. That will probably sort out the issue for you. If not, then it could just be a broken connection in the left channel or crossover (if it has one).
Hope u get it sorted 8)
