Hi guys,

I have a new track up on Electromancer, click the link in my signature and look for the track called "Illness".

I'm not sure if I should be calling it a "Break-beat" track, but that's the only genre it comes close to really.

By the way DS, all the guitar-ie type sounds are not real guitars/guitar samples or bass guitars/bass samples. They are all sounds programmed on my synths. Kind of to answer the thread you started about emulating guitars.

One more thing. Electromancer is having some difficulties, so if you can't get on please try again later.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to listen guys.

great swinged drums! but they are realy dry to my opinion
why not reverb them some more and squase the hell out of them with some tube emulation compressor
other then that great work here
the sequence of that overdrived synced lead effect thingy in the start is realy funny :D

I wanted to keep them slightly on the dry side with this track. I was trying to avoid the electronic feel. They do have a fair bit of verb on them though.

How do you mean funny? Also which sound are you talking about - the bassey sound at the start or the more lead style sound? Let me know so I can think about it for the next track.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to listen Tommer! :D Appriciate the feedback mate. Hey, also, when are we gunna hear one of your tracks online?

Don't be affraid of what people might think of your music Tommer! My guess is if you are affraid, then you really don't like what you are creating. Don't be shy and take the plunge!

Oh that's the sound you meant. Judging by your laughing there, you may be being sarcastic. :D I will not be changing that sound though because it gives more of an electronic answer to that chunky bass.

C`mon guys, a few more comments from some of you would be nice. Feedback from one person isn't exactly objective.

It's worth checking out IMO. Infact out of the recent tracks I've put together, this is one of my favourites.

IT'S NOT TRANCE THOUGH. hehe Sorry Tommer.

Something on those drums annoys me. The timing is awful! Ewww... Me not like. Otherwise ok track. Nice sounds, but musically didn't hit the spot though. Too minimal.

No, they are played live straight off the sampler.

This track has gotten some really mixed responses. Some people really like all the elements. Everyone likes the sounds and production, but a few people have mentioned they wanted electronic drums rather than accoustic.

At any rate, I like this track :D

This one is probably the best song I've heard from you mate. It got a Prodigy/Chemical Brothers style too it - But with a more chillout feel to it

I really like the bass and the lead sound.

I could expect to hear this in a Guy Ritchie movie - when everything is going down in like the end scene of "Lock, stock and two smoking barrels"

I wouldn't like to hear electrodrums in it.

Great work mate - Do more of this music

I was hoping someone would be a little positve. I really like the feel of this track and I was hoping a few other people from this board might too.

Thanks again mate.

Actually I like the minimal dispairing feel of this track......definitely has an atmosphere to it. I think the drums (abeit slightly unusual) work well for this type of music.......

The signiture HC synth sounds come into play again! Ive said it once and Ill say it again........good synth sounds! I for one will be getting hold of ur soundset (I dont program sounds like these.....more into my 80's....hehe if u hadnt already guessed!). Is the hard sync lead from the N2? Sounded like it. I like the 70's style guitar u got going on.....nice. Do u run all your monophonic sounds through your amp warmer thingy? I would like to hear a subtle 80's style digital pad float around in the background of this track......ah I have just the sound for you hehehehe.

Overall I think your producing skills are very good. My favourite tracks are 'Theres nothing' and 'Illness'. To me your music has a post-apocolyptic atmosphere to them......thats a good thing. I know this might sound a bit off the wall....but I could really see you do a filmscore!

My 80's Virus soundset is coming along really well. Im spending alot of time with my m8's JP8 and Prophet 5....making some really close emulations.....

Goodjob HC.

Thanks for taking the time to listen DS! :D

The main melodic lead in this track is actually the VC, but the more screaming harsh sounds are from the Nord.

The only sounds I run through the valve pre-amp recently are bass and sometimes kick drums (but the kick on this track wasn't processed). With bass, I usually compress using the VF-1 and run through the valve. The bass in this track though heavily uses Vintage Warmer (as I said in another thread).

Thanks again for listening DS.
