Roland V-Synth. 8O

What can I sell to get cash for this thing?

I've been interested in this Synth for a while now, but never had a chance to play it - still haven't actually. But yesterday I left the computer on for hours to DL the videos. After watching the movies, I could definitely imagine having this thing in my studio for sure!

hollow, why do you want to buy v synth?
Do you want to use it as a master controller in your studio setup?

I think it?s over-rated. I?ve tried one in a local instrument shop and I think it costs too much. It?s a very good machine but I wouldn?t pay so much of it.

It would replace the JX305 I'm using 70% of the time to control now, but that's not the reason I would like one. The vari-phrase stuff has always interested me, but it's much better implimented on this I rekon. It's just very hands on and all in-front of you with this.

Honestly though I'd prefer it in a desktop style with out the keys and the d-beam, but still with the touch-screen and buttons.

Maybe you did 303?! I kind of glossed over it before - thinking it was very similar to the Vari-os or VP-9000. After I watched the vids I changed my tune a bit.

Yeh it is a very expensive bit of gear I agree. There are a few little things that bother me with the specs too. It's just so hands on though - I'm gunna try to get a play on it soon (using my own samples hopefully).

Ahh money!!!

Yes, i am acctually pretty sure that i said you should check that one out, since i've kept my eye on this one since it was released. The pricetag is just too high now, but maybe later on.

Yeh it is too expensive, but shit it looks like fun. That side-band filter is great!

Err.. I wouldn't say this is a 'groovebox'-synthesizer, this is alot more than that. _NOT_ for DJ's - this synthesizer is very complex, even more so than the virus c (from a friend who has both). He means that the virus c is abit more hands on when making sounds while this V-synth takes alot of time to learn (not saying that the virus-synthesizers are 'easy' too learn, they are really complex aswell). And i couldn't imagine a dj use a v-synth on stage either. If he wants to use the effects he might aswell go for an Kaos-pad or something. Just because it has that 'heli-pad' doesnt make this a 'trance'/'dj'/'groovebox'-synthesizer. This is one awesome machine, if i had the money i'd buy it right away.

It is a sample playback synth sort-of. It has an analogue modeling section (but I wouldn't be touching that part). It's more along the lines of a sampler that you can completely mangle samples on the fly.

I wouldn't say this would be one for the DJ's either (as 303 said). It's more for people who want to engineer sounds that haven't been heard before. It would only come alive when using your own samples I think.

http://www.roland.com/V-Synth/ Go here and have a read.
http://www.roland.com/V-Synth/VideoDemo/index.html Go here to watch some videos (try to imagine what this would do to your own samples though).

There is software that can do similar things to the V-synth, but being able to do it so quickly and expresively is great I rekon. I'll be getting one, it's only a matter of when.

I'd like to have V-synth. It's one of those synths that are made to be programmed. Don't bother if you're that leafing-throught-presets generation or I-don't-want-to-read-manuals type of person. V-synth is like a rompler-VA-hybrid synth. It can produce very interesting sounds.

You mean Rompler-VA-Sampler-hybrid synth.

The sampler is the most interesting part for me I think.

I want one so bad and I've actually found a cheap one on the auctions, but I think it's too much cash to risk over the auctions (over here you have to use dirrect bank deposit). Want it bad though!

I am intrested in all the parts on this one. I really do enjoy the fact that this is really a programmers synthesizer, not like juho says "Where can i find good trancesounds too this one". I don't mind reading the manual. It's really worth it.

Well someday

Well? How badly do you want this thing, huh?

If someone wants to pay sme money for my underwear then I'm all for selling it off. It's not a question of how bad I want this thing, but how bad people want to buy my undies!

So you are saying you would like to buy some of my dirty briefs? Sure Jase - offer me a price. Of course skid-marks will cost a little extra  .

Although I have put on a bit of weight over this summer, I can still see my own willy. Yup I'm still male.
