Anyone know any good books that will help a novice access virus c user with very little knowledge on synths and sound design please?

the good book is the virus itself! just study the patches and see how they are designed. look at every part of the patch, tweak and see the difference... you can also read the programming tutorial on access website or search google for general info about subtractive synthesis.

I'd recommend doing some of the walkthrough examples in the Analog Programming book by Howard Scarr, I found that helpful when I started.
