Hey, I think I have asked this question once before, but I am becoming very serious about buying the Access VERY Soon, simply because it kicks major ass. =)

Like, I was wondering if it would work as a good/great Guitar FX unit? I know you can run it through the FX and filters of the Virus, but are there other modules or things you can run it through onboard the Virus that would give me more tone shaping possibilities, guitar wise?

I experimented running a very short guitar sample along side a few other sounds into the Virus's filters and FX. Go here http://www.sunesha.nu/virusforum/viewtopic.php?t=2632 to see the thread I started about it if you like.

I really like using the VC for processing sounds.

EDIT: As far as shapping sounds with the Virus, there are a fair few options for it actually. Of course using the standand ASDR envelopes are a good start though. Then comes LFO madness and the like - not forgetting to mention the Vocoda.

There is some mp3 about external input on VC at the access web site.
They got some cool effects after feeding some acoustic guitar in to virus, may be you check that out :)

Sorry I'm late on this one, but I've processed guitar and bass with my Virus KB. It sounds great. The filters make guitars/basses sound synthesizery, but they still retain some of their stringed instrument sound. Very cool. The distrotions sound great, and a little bit rate distortion combined with the resonant filters is awesome!!!

Yep, like Gothic says......

I too have run electric and bass guitars through the Virus KC and have created alot of satisfying tones. Distortions are very good......but so too are short delayed/flanged madness. The effects section is very versatile. Then like HC says....youve got the envelopes, filters and LFO's etc. You can really mangle the sound.

The only thing is.....your guitars may start to sound quite synthy and Virusy hehe.
