Ok, now I know alot of you would like to see a new filter type in addition to the Moog one....If you could have a choice of the next filter...what would it be? Any particular reason why?

Plz vote in the poll. Thx

I'd like to see the Sequential Circuits filter, only because my Micron has all the other filter types (except the Korg, but there's that nice cheap Frostwave MS-20 clone...).

I havent voted yet.....but my money is on a new filter type. I like all of the above filter types......but im actually more excited by the prospect of a decent sounding original filter. Access did it once....im sure they could possibly do it again. Vintage Virus filter anyone?

*As a total side note....I have an idea for a future OS update hehehehe. Why not give users the ability to ugrade all the original virus oscilators to alias free ones.....and ones that have a bit more balls to them.

I think alias free osc's would be a big undertaking, DS. It's a nice thought, but I don't think it's the sort of thing a midi file could accomplish.

BTW, do you still have a Virus? Are you gonna buy the new one?

I hope you know what you're doing, man. The Virus is great, but it always left you dissapointed. Are you sure you want to lay down the cash? You could always hedge your bet by getting a used B version and using the spare cash on a real analog...

my vote went for a new filter type.
actually, i 'really' like the comb filters in the waldorfQ/micro - something like that wouldn't really be a new filter type, just new to the virus.
the Clavia G2 also has some nice comb filters.
formant filters could be interesting also.

DS: i recently ran across some of your posts at another forum.
it seems you like RA's more than VA's, so i think gothic is probably offering some good advice.

I voted for the new filter type.

Still though - new OSCs for the VC instead of the Vocoda should be the next update. Wasn't a choice I know, but it had to be said. :D

i have no preference neither! any new type of filter is welcome as long as it will sound different!

There are very few alternatives out there for me. Im pretty sure in my mind I dont want to buy another analog at the moment.....most days I play on a JP8/P5/P1/MP......so I dont really have an analog craving now....im sorted in that respect. I was thinking about the A6 for a bit.....maybe even this new Korg synth people are talking about....we'll see

DS, if you have access to those classics, you'll probably be able to appreciate the Virus for what it is instead of trying to force it to be a Jupiter.

BTW, a comb filter would be great on the Virus. I've always like comb filters since I first played them on the Korg Prophecy, and I was really happy to hear them on the Micron.

DS, did you buy any effects yet? If I had those synths, I think my concern would be effects and recording instead of new synths, but that's just me.
