I am looking for a hardware sequencer so I can perform live. I need one that will enable me to change patterns on the fly and load new patterns into memory while playing. I have looked at the korg electribe EMX-1.. any other ideas? I don't really want the EMX-1's synth section .. I also need the sequencer to trigger external midi chanels :D
so what would you suggest??

Any akai MPC series will do the trick adn do it perfectly. Also have a look at the RM1X by yamaha.
Or the RS7000 from Yamaha aswell.

thinking about it now, If I were in your shoes, and assuming you have the money, go with any MPC2000. The timing is so tight on those it is almost ridiculous. :D

Akai MPC3000 and Yamaha RS7000 are definetly the best ones for live music today.
But, nothing can beat the Latronic Notron sequencer
