im sorry if this has been covered...i searched but didnt find anything.

i recently purchased a used indigo. the previous owner hardly ever used and it still had an old os on it (4.5 i think). i played with it for a few days to get used to it, then decided to update the os.

imediately after the update (which appeared to go smoothly) i encountered this problem. sometimes when using the keys...they will make no sound at all...and sometimes they will make a sound...but the the the sound will play forever. i cant play another note untill i change the patch. i cant play more than 4 or 5 notes without one of these two things happening.

i have tried a hard reset...nothing happens...i have tried a reinstall of the os...nothing happens.

it seems obvios that something went wrong during the os update, but i cant seem to fix it.

thnx in advance for any help.

~Welcome to Planet Virus~

Sounds like this may be one for the Access tech team? Give them a bell, or send email, they are very helpful bunch.

Hopefully someone here may be able to help more than me :)

Good luck!

A few questions for you.....

Does it get stuck when receiving midi note info from an external source - EG seperate controller keyboard or sequencer?

What tempo did you send the new OS to the Virus?

Are you sure it wasn't happening before the OS update?

Really hope you get it sorted out. I did read about some people having trouble with the keyboards of KBs a while back. I think Juho had some trouble with one at some stage. Not sure if it was happening with the Indigo1s too though.

thnx for the quick replies.

hollowcell...as far as your questions go.

i dont know if it gets stuck using an external source..i havent gotten that far yet :?

i set the tempo to 60bpm as per the suggestion in the manual.

yeah...it definately was not doing it before. i was playing with it for 3 or 4 days before with no problems. as soon as i tried to use it after the os update (the very first try) it started doing it. it reads on start up that the os is correct, so i assumed the update worked.

should i try to reinstall the update?

im hoping i can fix this myself somehow....as i dont live anywhere near a place that could fix it, and im pretty sure the warrantee is no good anymore...i did buy it used.

the only step i *may* have messed up (but i dont think i did) was the dissableing of the midi clock option....would that even cause this problem? it looks in the manual as though if i had messed that up, it just wouldnt have updated at all.

Definitely disable the Midi clock on your sequencer before sending the OS (although I'm not sure if it will accept the OS if the midi clock is on anyway) and make sure it's the latest OS too.

If it's still not working right after that, try and contact the Access guys. They would be keen to lend a hand I'm sure.
