I found another synth can make good 303's sound.V-station.303's sound on V-station are beats and wicked.I think this sound is better than Audiorealism's bassline.but.....who used the KS station or KS rack.I don't know if the KS's sound is better than v-station and k-station.but If I buy a KS synth.I think I have to buy a good hardware sequencer to make some crazy pattern of 303.

no!
how could he compered a crapy software va like v station to an analog filter beast like the tb303!?
v station sounds like plastic in my opinion.

In fact novations go pretty near to the sound of 303. I had a Supernova2 and was surprised how good it was making 303 sounds, also with distortion. However novation super bass station is even better (of course as it's analog).

F5D i didnt realise the superbass station was proper analog. I thought it used digital oscilators to emulate analog. And an analog filter? How can this be.....how could i have missed this lol

Digital Screams, in fact you may be right. I'm not 100% sure if the oscillators are modelling or DCO's, which many analog purists call "digital" too. However, at least the filter, distortion, chorus (and noise?) are analog. I like the synth very much and it sounds pretty analog to my ears. The sound is completely different from any other digital novation. Powerful, dirty, wild, fantastic. :)

I actually quite liked the sound of the K-Stations. Especially as Focusrite (who now own Novation) cured the dodgy "clicking" artefact business (with an OS update).

Couldn't part me from a Virus, though. ;)

I've got a bass station and its Virtual Analog. The Future Retro 777 is a far better tb303 emulator then rebirth, bass station or any other software.

The 777 is a real analog mono synth with a 3 pole filter. Bass station has 2 or 4 pole filter which is why it only ever gets close. All novation stuff seems to have a slightly glossy sound to it too, nowhere near the rawness and bite of a real analog.

Have played with or owned all units mentioned here, and thats my opinion.

They're DCO's...analog. I never understood why some call DCO's digital. Sure they are controlled by a digital clock but the sound is still analog.

About the KS synth. Don't like the sound.

i have a bass station rack and it doesn't sound like 303 at all!!! it is very very thin and cheesy sounding.
And by the way, i think the bass station and the super bass station have DCO and real analog filters! i discussed this on another forum a few time ago and it seems many people were ok about it!

You?re right. It has a DCO and analog filter. I checked it from the original manual. My flat mate here where I study has one. You?re also right about it not sounding teebee-like. It sure don?t. But the A-station/K-station/KS-range sounds very much the same. Exspecially with distortion turned on.
