How noisey/springy is your Pitch wheel?

My pitch bending wheel makes a funny springy kind of sound when it returns back to the center..

It was nice and tight when I first purchased the KC 4 months ago but now it makes a really springy kinda sound that is quite distracting.. Spoke to aussie distro they said thats normal, but I really don'ty think it is... It dosn't get into the audio stream, its litteraly the spring !

Mine sound fine...cause my virus dont have a keyboard so i use a Edirol PCR-M50

the pitch band is based on... a band ,and when it gets dry thats what happends.
im sure its not a problem to replace it with a new one.
