For me it would have to be a retro funk true analog monosynth. I wonder if they could make one? A drummachine?

Ideas....

who needs a hardware drum machine in today's digital age?

i would like to see them creating a revolutionary musical instrument which is designed for performing.

I agree. With a 3 octave keyboard would be cool.

I would definately buy an Access drum machine!!!!! Something with sample pads (velocity sensative) and huge library of sounds

Merlot

How about an access "groovebox (for lack of a better word), with a step sequencer, velocity senstitive pads, and the virus engine on board that you can sequence with the built in step sequencer. Now that would be nice..

WOw man....what is this? Not seen this before! What does it do? Drums and simple sequencing? You make the drums using the analog osc and filter?

How much did you pay?

Does alot more than just drums. It has a 8 band filterbank, the Osc's have all kinds of morphing capabilities, 4 pole and 2 pole discreet Analog filter, also has digital filter onboard, yada yada. . . . . . . could go on for awhile. Go on the website and take the guided tour. Also take a listen to the MP3's and check out this (http://www.sonicstate.com/news/shownews.cfm?newsid=1336) video. Listen to how nice that analog filter sounds. It is developed by the same guy behind all the quasimidi products.
I paid an arm and a leg, but I have been waiting for something like this for too long to pass it up. it was instant G.A.S. when I read about it a couple of months ago.

Yeah, heard the demo sounds and went with the speckie. I am going to keep my KC, as that will hold me over for awhile. I can program most anything I want on the KC anyways, so the TI upgrade would just be for the new wavetables. I'll wait for awhile and maybe consider it next year!!

I'll second that Merlot. I have never playe on one though, but the stuff on that site makes me want to. 8O

And to DS. I often run my Virus/and everything else into my CS10 for an analogue filter pass. The CS's filter is very aggressive though, plus it can only handle a mono signal - can't use it on everything. I also like analogue distortions and stuff too.

I am going to go out to eat, come home, drink wine, and dig in. I am going to route the KC through the filterbank of the speckie. I think I could probably come up with some wicked sick sounds doing that.

I'd like to see a serious hardware programmer expansion box that will be
compatible with all versions of Virus (from A to TI), all knobs transmit midi,
additional definable controllers in form of knobs and sliders, ability to switch
modes between Virus programmer and regular midi controller for vst/hardware
instruments for example. Memory to save 16 settings, and most important -
NO LCD DISPLAY! I'm sick of this stupid scrooling trough menus and shit...
Yes, and one more thing, a joystick like in Sequential Prophet VS can be cool ;)
http://www.synthmuseum.com/sequ/seqprovs02sm.jpg
It should be built propa, i mean hardcore stainless steel construction,
all knobs and sliders like the ones used in tanks and helicopters innit ! 8O

Personally i'm ready to pay $800 for this shit innit.

Ok, verdict on the spectralis is it sucks. Let me explain for a bit. I emailed the developer and got this back. Mind you this was already after I paid for it. Can you say return ASAP.

from the "developer:"

"sorry for the trouble. We are currently completly rewriting the
sequence engine. At the moment, no independent selection of Motifs,
Drumgrooves and sounds is possible. Also the realtime recording of
new
motifs and editing of motifs and pattern is not yet available. We
thought, we should ship now, because all features, we have shown
during trade shows are already there and people will be offenden for
waiting still any longer. "

Basically I paid for a synth whos engine is not even complete. What a fucking crock for the amoount of money I spent. What should I be looking at next fellas since I a, going to have store credit at novamusik

Hollowcell

Man, that's horrible luck. You aren't having a good run at all are you.
First the V-synths power dies, then this! I didn't read anything on the website regarding the lack of OS though?! Did I just miss it or what?

Anyway. if they will honor your credit for a while, maybe you should hold off and see what this Clavia thing is. :D

Good luck mate!

Merlot
23.03.2005, 07:54 AM
Tell me about bad luck man. THis sucks ass. I am at a loss here. I might as well wait around for the TI or whatever clavia is bringing out.

You didn't miss it. They didn't annouce it which should mena death to them whenever users get their machines and realize shit doesn;t work. pardon the french, but I am pissed.

All I can say Merlot is......

despite Access' delays in shipping.....atleast they would never ship an unfinished product just because of consumer pressure.

Its really bad luck what you've had to go through......but this is life I guess....and everything works itself out in the end.

*Was it the sound of the unit which also pissed you off? I mean.....DSP oscilators into an analog filter isnt that cool.

your right, releasing a bugy product would have hurt sales 10 times more then delaying shipment on a finished product.

cant you return it?
i think nova music allows you to return a product after 4 days.
not sure if this is valid in case you opened the original box....

Merlot
23.03.2005, 09:03 PM
Nova returns stuff no questions asked for the first 30 days. Also explained to them the situation, and they concurred that the OS was not finished also, so they took it back no questions.

Umm, every OS update could be considered as the previous OS version being incomplete, but that isn't the issue...

The problem in Spectralis's case is that they didn't advertise what they were actually selling! Truely misleading.

Hope something comes good for you soon though Merlot.

Only two weeks (yesterday) 'til the Messe.

6th - 9th April.

Not long now lads.

Bet the TI will ship then, too. If not, maybe by Winter Namm '06.

Bet the TI will ship then, too.

I can only hope.

If it doesnt ship at Messe, then I think someone from Access needs to come forward and give an 'official' statement regarding release...

Even if the TI ships by the end of Messe, it will be 5 months from when I preordered till shipping

Perhaps a nice little bonus from access is in order for preorder customers (especially those of us who preordered on the day of the initial press release ;) ) to compensate for the wait :D

cheers
