agggggggggggggg!
iv had it with my virus.
im a beginner ok, im tryina use multi or multi single mode but its just SO confusing.
How do you disable the 15 parts of a multi sound so u can just use one?!
as in, when i choose a multi patch to start with its made of like 16 other single patches.
How can i just de activate them!?
and then where should i save the stuff i like? (seeing as a-h all contain sounds from the 1024 update)
thank you kindly

because say i wanna use five different instruments in a song in cubase virus will only let me use one in single mode.
eg track1 i use mini moog
then track2,3 (all the way to 16) will only ever be that same noise on track1!
thanks for ur quick replies

thanks
yeah iv read it many times
but to use it you have to disable all the other parts in the sound
all the patches are made up of different patches. I just want to hear one on its own so i need to find a way to disable the other patches.
sorry dunno if im making sense

Ok man...dont panic. Some one here will probably clarify this for you....but if your still having trouble....post an email to the virus mailing list: access-list@ampfea.org
remember to type in a subject line so that users on the mailing list will identify your problem. Hope this helps.

Have you tried the search function. There are numerous threads on the subject in these forums.Check in the introduction forum with the subject called "you can call me bitch"
Search for multi mode and I guarantee you will find what you are looking for.
Have you tried access tech support. They are responsive also.

I dont understand all the bruhaha about multi mode......
Set up your 16 MIDI channels in your sequencer, with each MIDI channel coresponding to a part in your multi. From your sequencer you should be able to choose which patch you want (if you have your patch scripts)
Initialize a multi patch, and start making your own multi.
Why do you need to deactivate the other parts????? You seem to be doing something very wrong here......Im sure it will be simple to solve, but just dont panic.
Good luck! :)

by the by.....each part in your multi should also correspond to MIDI channels 1-16

thanks guys
the problem is, i do what u said eg. sequencer track 1 is 1 on virus, 2 is 2 and so on.
But i set one sound and then when i press play on the sequencer it starts playing this ANNOYING sound called auto bend on every channel its auto bend.
I have the patch scripts but its like in multi mode everything is that one sound. You cant even cycle through different sounds in multi.
I feel like cryin! im so stupid for spending that kind of money on something i cant even use. i feel so stupid!
when i cycle through multi patches EVERY sound is called autobend?!?!

ok i can set channel 1 to play something in multi
but then on channel 2 i set the sound but when i record it it just plays something else ("creamy")
why does it reset itself and play that!?!??!
its like I go to channel 2 and set it to global channel 2.
and then when i cycle through (in multi single mode) i cant hear any of the sounds, when i finally find one i go back into multi to record and it just gives me that patch called "creamy".
How can i get channel 2 to play"Jam mini" for example?

Ok I think I had a similar problem with pro tools while sequencing my virus. First when you have set up what patches you want in your multi click store so your multi will be stored with whatever patches you want. I would also recommend that you have your sequencer have all the tracks set to different midi channels... so track 1 should be set to midi channel 1, and track 2 to midi channel 2... But have your sequencing program open up like that. One thing I think you've done wrong is that you think you set up each different virus part to a different global channel... just set your virus to global channel 1 cuz the global channel means its talking about the entire virus not just one patch. When you are in a Multi( you probly kno this but ill say it just in case) by pressing PART - or + on your virus you move through the 16 different patches of your Multi. To edit just one of the parts of your virus push EDIT. Make sure again that every virus part has the same midichannel as the part that you are on... so click edit then move the parameter button < or > till you get to the section called midichannel. Then click part - and + and make sure that every part has the same midichannel number as the part that you are in. Once that is done click the store button twice. It might be helpful too to click CTRL and move the parameter < or > till you are at the section called Keyboard Mode, and make sure its set to One Channel. Also go to the section called MIDI(its under CTRL again) and make the DeviceId 1 ( you only have a virus synth right?). Your sequencer tracks might be set to different midi channels and/or different patch numbers. Thats why when you press play on your sequencer it is probably changing the patch numbers and midi channels of the parts on your virus. I hope this helped you out, and I hope I'm not saying anything incorrect. Oh and it might help if you say what you are using to sequence. I was using protools and at first it was driving me crazy, but once I had it set up correctly I never had problems with it ( but when I go over the polyphony limit my virus freezes up). You just have to have everything set up correctly on your virus and in your sequencing program. All you veterans of this site should let me know if any of the information I gave here is incorrect. Like I said I had this problem too and maybe this will help you out-
