Anyone got a good list of tweaks in XP for the digital audio workstation - or link to one, please?
Should I service pack 2 it as well?
Sozz if this is a bit lame, but I've been out of touch for a bit due to family matters. This summer's gonna be back to production.
Cheers

Yes, SP2 is new MS code so it is unproven, BUT a PC without SP2 is definitley flawed with security issues that are fixed by SP2.
So, it is a double edged sword not to install it IF your DAW PC is connected to the WWW.

I have dual boot; one for internet/work and the other for audio. Plus another physical hdd for audio files.
Thanks for links. Gonna stay clear of sp2 then for audio partition.

I've run sp2 on both of my computers, my laptop & desktop of which both are currently used for music production, and I have had not one problem.

Hey guys, have a look at "optimizing your system" from our database if you wish.
