I try to find out that pre-mastering thing. And a friend of mine told me that first of all I had to delete the DC-Offset. So I did that and than I went to the next step like EQ, Compressor,... After I pushed the level up as much as I could I was interessted in if the DC-Offset was still on 0%.
But as I assumed there was something like 0.1% or even a bit more again.

Actually I approximately know what it is. But I'm not sure on which stage I have to do that.

Why do you have to have a DC offset????

oh sorry, that was my bad English.

I didn't wanna say that I have to have it. I wanted to ask on what stage I have to delete it. Or isn't that normal that I got a small Offset, which I have to delete?

Hopefully my problem doesn't get lost in my bad English again :D

No...... it was my mistake.

It might be that your software is not so accurate....or after processing for some reasons there is a small amount of DC somewhere (usually from filters/EQ)

I wouldnt worry too much about this. If you were to record a album for commercial release, then Im sure the Mastering guy would include DC offset removal in the mastering process. What is the purpose of your songs????

In the end, if it is sounding good to your ears, then dont worry too much about these things.

Anyways...good luck with your mixes. please post some on the "Forum Members Music" Forum, I would be interested to hear them.

(P.S I think you remove DC offset before processing in mastering software-so you mix down in your multi-tracker, import into 2 track editor, and then straight away remove DC offset)

It isn't for a commercial release. I'm "just "a damn musicfreak who loves playing around with my computer and my virus and trys to get some cool stuff out of them. I even still produce with 2 Technics Hifi-Speakers. I know, I know what a shame  but I simply got no money

Will post a link to some production of me. I got some on soundclick. Unfortunately I just had 10Mb space so I cut them to a shorter but more repetitive version together.

Actually I make stuff between Electro, Techno, Breaks and TripHop. Basicly some freaky stuff!! :D
