Hi there! I just got a .mid-file from a friend of mine, which contains a great soundset.. I wondered If there is any other way than using i.e. Cubase to load this into my virus..? Is there any other free program I can use? The SoundDiver crashes when I try to "upload" .mid files.. :(
Please, someone, help me...
Thanks.. :)

As far as i know there is no other way than to use a sequencer or soundiver. If soundiver isnt working, you'll just have to use a sequencer.

Well.. The only sequencer I have is FL Studio (And it does not support sysex or whatever.. It does not upload soundsets).. Which means I have to go the illegal way to get the soundset loaded into my virus.. :| Which I dont wanna do..

ask your friend to convert the bank to a different format then ;)
I used to use my Virus in FL Studio but ran into way too many problems so I ended up using Cubase :)

Well.. I have a Cubase SX 2.. But I cannot (don't know) how to load sounds on to my Virus.. I import the midi-file.. And press play.. All the cables are connected where they should and everything is fine.. But nothing happens to my virus!! It seems like the only way I can load sounds to my virus is with the sounddiver (with .lib files...) ... anyone know how to upload with Cubase SX ?

Ehm.. I dont wanna dump sounds to my sequencer.. I want to load them.. And btw.. Where is the "control" button?

Import the soundbank as MIDI file into cubase and play it. When it is no MIDI file, convert it via Sounddiver Virus, available on the Access Website.
Is there any other free program I can use?

"Upload" is the wrong function. Install the Virus in Sounddiver, open your file as library and drag&drop the patches to the Virus memory banks. There is also a manual available on the access website.

I had a similar problem with SX at first,
Do this:-
Load the Midi file,
make sure you have the right MIDI channel out setup on SX, to corrispond with the virus global channel,
the important thing, is to turn of Midi-Clock in SX, and untick Sysex in the midi filter (in preferences)
let the whole midi file play right till the end,
now check your banks a&b
 C..
