I've found the comment underneath on the access virus page. It is a description of a soundbank. Unfortunately I don't have any time to try it out because I go abroad in a few weeks and I've got a lot to do before.

>>This soundset is EBM and progressive dance oriented.

I've read this expression on other pages as well but nowhere an explanation so I'm just wondering.

My guess is: Electronic Bass Music

Ah but thats a guess......if you want to really find out ask the guys on this forum www.darksonus.com

I post there....and sometimes I get raped for liking 80's music. THey like their depressive gothic/industrial/ebm styles. Fair play...music diveristy is a good thing.

EBM has been used as a term describing a certain branch of industrial in the last couple years. I remember a Keyboard magazine article from a year or two ago that was talking about Front 242 and calling them EBM, but who knows? Genre classification is always imprecise, and most of the time grossly inaccurate in a broad, sweeping sense as well.

EBM is electronic body music, the term was coined by Front 242. Recommendations for an introduction are http://www.rantradio.com/rr-industrial128.pls and www.ebm-radio.de Both webcasts go beyond EBM and play Industrial, Electro, and Wave as well. However, if you cannot say that sounds like "Industrial/Electro/Wave" then, yessir you are in fact listening to EBM. Alas, modern EBM often takes on some of the qualities of Trance (ick!) but much harder, so that is also a pointer.

After listening to the sample I think it stands for Erasure Bronski Beat Music. You need to listen to it with blue jeans and a tight white T-shirt on. I was just waiting for Andy Bell to dive into one of his falsetto, sprawling melodies.
