What I was wondering about, does anybody know if the virus effects have been Improved for the TI line? Personally, I think the reverb could be improved, and off course the chorus, I didn't like the sound of that one at all.

I don't think we will see new effects soon.

The thing is, they HAVE to keep the old effects in there to make it compatible and sound the same but I would agree that a reverb 3 would be MORE than welcome!

Dynamic effects would be good - a compressor (single and multiband), a mastering limiter, gates, etc.

A analogue-type tape-echo would be nice (I know you can do this to an extent with the delay "colour", but you can't attenuate the highs and the lows to leave the mids at any one time, etc.)

More distortions would be kewl. Maybe even a saturation effect that sounds like proper saturation, tape/valves/opto etc., without it sounding fizzy and sapping all the life away from your patch. The PSP Vintage Warmer sounds great, for eg.

I always liked Step-Sequencers too. I know the TI will employ a customisable arpeggiator, but I think is limited to just modulating velocities and note-on/off data? Modulating any number of parameters (and not just note-on/off data) would be seriously cool. You'd be able to do some serious filter gating, etc.

And, er, maybe I haven't mentioned it yet, but importing of user wavetables in the style of Z3ta+ would be jolly nice!! :)

I agree, especially regarding the compressor. I'm actually surprised there are no apparent way to tame the dynamics from this synth...I mean, it's a beast!

Id say the VIrus already sounds a little compressed.....

It doesnt quite breath into a room like a true analog does. Does Marc or Ben know whether there is some kinda onboard compression going on?

*BTW plz dont respond...this is meant as a joke

Well, the saturation algorithm sure saps the life out of everything, so make sure that's disabled!

When I used to program the KC I rarely used the saturation mode...it just didnt have the effect I wanted. This is not necessarily a reflection of the Virus' saturation mode per se....but maybe i just dont like those type effects. I tried running my m8s guitars through the virus distortions....but i was always left wanting more excitement from the sound.

But why complain? Digital distortions are pretty crap anyway. YOu definitely need tube/analog distortions...

Agreed...

Surely this is achievable for a future OS update?

I'd like to know what Access have in mind for future TI OS versions... (I guess - a go at the first one would be nice too  )

cheers
