Virus C Battery Life??

I just got a Virus Rack XL (which is the Virus C engine in a rackmount) and I was ready the instruction book and it says that the battery is supposed to be replaced every 3 to 4 years...uh-oh...I've gotten this off of eBay so it's probably already been that long...have people out there had problems with saving things or is the manual just being overcautious?

I think the battery life is underestimated.

I know a few people with virus b/indigo 1/virus c units and havent heard of anyone replacing the battery as yet.

that's good...I mean I JUST got my Virus and I hate to create some amazing sounds with it and within the next year have to send it away to get it fixed...

still, Its never a bad idea to make periodic SysEx backups as well, ya know... :wink:

Id say you have about another 3 years before you even have to worry.
