Just heard it on the radio, they're bringing out a greatest hits album and have remixed some of the tunes. I've just heard an absolutely blistering rework of Firestarter. The boys are still hungry.........

Not heard the new new stuff.

I really like "Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned".
You can still hear that Prodigy 'edge'/'bite' in the music.

Hope the new stuff is good.

Spitfire was my fav tune, er, the only tune I liked on AONO.

However, take a listen to Spitfire - Future Funk Squad's "Dogfight" remix, I like it even moreso than the original! Howlett is a tad more outgunned than he thinks he is. All the other Prodigy albums were wicked, but AONO just passed me by... :/ FOTL has really powerful yet dynamic beats - AONO on the other hand is just mush, at least to my ears.

Poison just burned my arse off!
was listening to a rip from their Radio1 set,
they gave the listeners few tastes from the new album.

That statement is kinda vague...

Someone might think they can load up a cracked copy of Reason onto thier dads PC, buy a Microkorg, and then produce an album like the Prodigy.

Where was it mixed? How did they record the vocals if they only used Reason?

Im sure, like the last album, Reason was only used as a sketch pad for ideas.

Not tryin to start shit btw

:)

Loving this album!!!!!

Go LIAM!!!!

"Reason is purely for sequencing," Liam says.

Love it how the software brigade always claim he did the whole album on Reason. It was just the sketchpad guys...you didn't really think he got everything sounding that phat in Reason did ya?

i belive its possible,
even tho it still goes thru some massive analog processing afterwards doring the mix process.

some amek color i assume, and some urei compression, pultech eqing.
you know, all of that sweet stuff... :)

I love the prodigy but i didnt think much of the album the album "Always outnumbered never outguned" it seemed lacking in rythms compared to his early stuff and also seemed to be very dry.

dont get me wrong i think it was a good album but nothing compared to the other three albums.

He said he locked his studio full of hardware and bought a laptop and that album was the result.

Bring back the rythms and the vibe Liam.

i have full faith in the return of the prodigy. Saw them live in october and the actually rocked harder than my first gig in 96(this was my fourth)! And thats saying alot, because that was the first time i heard smbu\funkyshit\mindfields +++

Playing live with ableton live is the perfect match for liam, mixing everything up. We've had new versions of jericho\outofspace\charly(sweeeet..)\poison\firestarter ++ that absolutely rocks.

They are supposedly in the studio now, can't wait.

I do hope the new album will be something like of Fat-Of-The-Land in every respect - punchy beats, tight bass and powerfull sounds. Many of the synth lines were so powerfull in that album - No amount of processing will make Reason sound like that.

I can't wait for the new album. Let's hope we don't have to wait as long this time.

By the way. Thanks for the Video Jonbon. I'm DLing now. :D

I reakon "Music for the Jilted Generation" is much better than "Fat of the Land".

There are a few songs on Jilted which I think sparked off Fat of The Land. But the production on Fat of the Land craps all over Jilted.

Gents for your info Liam Howlett has just put out a Back to Mine compilation. The first track is a new Prodigy track entitled "Wake the fuck up." IMO it's a bit of a paint by numbers Prodigy track - it doesn't appear to have been given the full Prodigy treatment. Liam probably knocked it up in an hour - but none the less it is still a new track.

The album by the way has some great tracks on it...

It's got one of my all time favourite tracks on it: -

Radio Babylon by the Meat Beat Manifesto.

Pure genius.
