I got the desktop today. I'm trying to boot it up by pressing the two transpose buttons, when it comes up, it shows a blank white screen with some leds lid. I tried to reset the ti by pressing exit while pressing transpose buttons, no use. I Installed the cd that came with the package, DP passed the AU test. I was able to choose virus as an AU plugin, But the integration page says no usb, audio or midi connections. Mac G5 2.0(2.5 gig ram)OS 10.3.9
Basically the TI is not booting up.

I just got my Virus ti today. Took it to work and it turned on ok. Once or twice it booted up to that blank screen. I had to un-plug it to get it to re-boot.

HAvent got home yet to run the updates.
Im hoping the software update (on the cd or on the net) will help. Makes me feel a little un-easy. I also noticed a few pops when switching patches.

I will be running it with a Power Mac G5 2 ghz dual, and Logic 7

I had the same blank screen today, but after some fiddling around I updated the TI to newer OS, working fine. It works in DP, but some latency though @ 512sample buffering.

hey tranzash
what kind of latency are you talking about.

keyboard press latency or what.
Im not good enough at this to instinctively know what you meant

I've got the same problem - blank screen on booting up. When deplugging the power supply and trying to switch on again, it worked fine.

But even the update didn't solve the problem. According to access it COULD be a hardware defect. But if you experience the same problems, I hope, it can be solved by a software update

Cheers,
glen

Hey Glendale, This is my same problem. Usually my TI has to be boot twice. First time it comes to a blank screen, then I unplug the thing and boot up again and it works fine. OS is latest 1.02. (Desktop)

Count me in on having that same problem on my Desktop Ti. I'm using OS1.02. Haven't tried 1.03 yet. Unplugging the power, then re-insterting it seems to work for now.

Looks like os 1.0.3 fixed the booting problem on the desktop version. we'll see.

I had some issues with booting but havent done it in the past 5 days(and I used the TI quite extensively).

To avoid I always make sure to:

Start the TI before Cubase.
I don't touch(it's hard to resist) the TI while Cubase is loading...Same thing when VControl loads.

When I'm done, I shut down Cubase...THEN close the TI.

For me it works everytime.

Doesn't work for me ... as soon as the power is plugged to the TI (whether the sequenzer or computer is started doesn't matter at all), there's a blank screen. de-plug and re-plug and it boots up.

A friend told me, that it really might be a hardware-defect with a condenser ...

To reset the TI unplug the power cord, press and hold [ARP EDIT] and plug the power cord in, when BPM and the Access LED in the Mixer section are blinking, release the [ARP EDIT] button.

If this happened after a failed OS update, you might boot the TI into "update mode" which is by holding [EXIT] during a powercycle and run the firmware updater afterwards.

Have you already contacted access support?

Can I just ask....why isnt there and on/off power switch anymore? So you have to pull the power cable in and out in order to boot up and shut down?

Is the power socket case mounted or circuit board mounted?

Just wondering as I was trying to figure out why people are pulling out their power leads all the time.

You hold the TRANSPOSE buttons together for 2 seconds.
Maybe people who have had crashes do the power cable thing.

Any other users of the different Ti models having this problem (ie Polar and 61key)? Or is it just the Desktop TI users?

yes, I've already contacted the access support ... they're suggesting to bring it back. But I still hope, that it might be fixed with an OS update.

This may have been fixed with v1.05. I haven't experienced a blank screen after normal use since I've updated the firmware. I've probably booted it up 7 times or so with no problem. Hopefully this update cures the blank screens.

i have still sometimes blank screen :( with 1.05 update ! !

And pops and clicks seems normal with virus or not ? and sometimes seems like some notes still playing... after restarting its ok again. But usualy i use my virus after work playing with it like 5 hours a day and usualy i will have to make restart every hour because something always happend:

1) sometimes no sound at all :(
2) Pops clicks normal ...? dont think so :(
3) all other failures :(
4) Controll will work sometimes but crashing a lott when i try to change parameters on virus !

But when it works it sounds very good :)

Welp, I had the blank screen on me with OS 1.05 today. I thought it would be fixed but I guess I was wrong, although I must admit it didnt happen as often this time after the update to 1.05

I've once received a statement by the technical Access support telling me to stay tuned because it really might be a software bug. lets hope so :)
