unfortunately i am governed by what i have used so far with hands on experience.

with my LOGIC 5.5.1, i have used BATTERY 2, NOVATION V-STATION, MICROTONIC, ABSYNTH 3. thats it!!!

I can use many audio instrument tracks as my CPU can handle, i just assign, say 5 NOVATION V-STATION software synths on 5 individual audio instrument tracks. nice and simple.

I have never used a multi instrument software synth, so i dont know how audio instrument tracks operate with THE VIRUS TI.

can i do something as simple what i do with my soft synths (explained above) as this with the TI?,
how many audio instrument tracks can i have with TI.

i still am comfused with the 2 stereo submixes and what that means.
and how it ties in with the TI being used as a software multi instrument.

It will be easy,
CH 1. kick drum
2. snare
3. open hi hat
4. closed hi hat
5. wicked bass
6. wicked bass clone, distored mashed up with a high pass filter
7. great pulsing arp playing fat open fifths. with heeps of detune and unison.
8. lush deep pad with no highs. just brooding
9. short bleeps every two bars.
10. grinding leads with soring melody.
11. some sound fx to go whoosh on every 16th bar
12. another sound fx to go rising up before the 16th bar
13. a little twinkle to lift the chorus. triangle and pure
15. a big churchy organ to fill the break down
16. a huge booooooom to end the track.

Now that wasn't hard was it?

I did swap around for awhile...If I had beat itchin to get out I used FL but now Im using SX3 most of the time due to FL's limitations in midi and other features... but I have been using cubase since 3.7...
