Hello,
I'm quite impressioned by the demosounds on the official virus page, but somehow, there's very few trance sounds...

But that's exactly what I would buy the virus for. Have you got any links to typical virus trance lead sounds? Or could you upload some trance patches (pounced to MIDI)

its realy not much trouble programing your own trance leads&arps.
you should get yourself a nice book about subtractive synthesis.

There are two whole banks of presets by Manuel Schleis in the TI, so no worries about trance sounds ;)

I do know about subtractive synthesis and programming synths in general... But I don't own a TI yet and I haven't had a chance yet to go into a music shop to have a look at it...
I only got the impression that the Virus isn't what I consicered it to be, namely a providing good possibilities getting nice Trance Sounds, so that's why I posted this thread...

you can get trance sounds out of any synths,its the charictiristics and "color" is what your after the virus is decent.

What are the other synths you use when it comes to trance? is the virus on top of the list?

further: the bassline in your track, is it a virus only bassline?

I would say virus is pretty much on top of the list...
Since I have the TI I havent plugged in my other synths(jp8080, novation ks4, fr777, alpha juno2)...I think that says it all :)

great bassline! I remember having heard it in other productions! and great as well that you prefer the TI over all the other synths, even your JP thingy, what indeed says it all ;)
