View Full Version : Hypersaw demos?
Anyone going to demo the hypersaw, or wavetables for us, then? :D Surprised no-one has done thus, yet.

concerning the hypersaw: wasn't the hypersaw already possible in virus b or even virus a? I mean the hypersaw are "just a couple of simultaneously running saws what you can get as well with some unison, or not?

with a little creative programming in multimode, you could come up with something very similar, but you'd most of the machines power for it.
the TI has a lot more power to spare than previous versions.

the TI has more thne twise the power thne the previews,it uses a faster dsp chip and has two insted of one.
Yep, repeatedly watched Ben's hypersaw demos back in, what was it, last december?
They were only brief, barely scraping the surface, and low in fidelity (being a video stream).
So..... a few new (user) ones would be great. :)

I wouldn't mind hearing some demos myself guys....
Although I understand peoples' time is pretty much taken up with just trying to get the thing to work, but still....chuck an old dog a bone.
And while I'm begging...
Please make them unprocessed wave files (no shorter than 15 to 20 seconds) so they'll go straight into the sampler easily. :D

Or.. Just send them ol' TI's to us and start saving up for the next version of the TI.. TImkII.. You all know it will take some time for Access to get those mkII working perfect.

If there is to be a TI MKII in the next couple of years....then I think it will be rock solid. Sure, the new TI has a few teething problems....but when one considers the amount of programming involved it should come as no suprise. Unfortunately for me I cannot afford the TI now.....argh ive gone to hell and back figuring out ways I could afford it. My student loan just wont stretch that far. Im just going to set aside little bits of money here and there so that I CAN afford the MKII if when it materializes...
As it stands right now....the TI does represent an incredibly powerful and versatile standalone synth...I feel people sometimes loose sight of that issue especially when there are no other hardware synths on the market which can do anoywhere near as much as the TI can.
Its ironic...that despite my bitching of the virus (from time to time) its still the only VA synth id feel comfortable owning. Its high quality build, good UI and complexity still appeals to me. I think its important to own a number of synths...that way you can use the Virus on its strengths.

Ho ho, i second that.
Furthermore, the TI concept is great. Just hope they implement graphical user/customisable wavetables (a la Z3ta+), change the pitch-bend orientation to horizontal, and add more hands-on modulation controllers (XY-pad, or ribbon controller, or joystick, etc....) :D
The virus is a capable synth, but the lack of hands-on controllers thwarts it dreadfully, imo.

IMHO, the three assignable softknobs are enough

IMHO, a ribbon controller can do stuff that knobs never could. Tapping, gating, controlling two parameters in harmony if the controller was sensitive to pressure, like cut-off on the X-axis and resonance on the Z (pressure), etc..
Even 20 soft knobs couldn't do that. ;) You still need at least one hand for playing, afterall, and the Virus is supposedly geared towards live use (hence the onboard knobbage).
Ribbon controllers are very expressive transducers. A bit like a mini Kaoss pad.
But, I digress, back to Hypersaws!..... :o
