help! cannot upload patch 1027 patch to keyboard!

hey guys,

been having a slight problem with uploading patches to my Virus. Been trying to get this old 1027 patch in my KC for some time now but been hitting a brick wall....


According to the manual, i have to load the midi file into my sequencer (which is cubase SX).

Okay, fine.....so i import the midi file into channel MIDI 01 of my sequencer, and press PLAY (as the manual asks you to)....

Then im supposed to see the progress bar on my Virus screen....but when i look over at the KC i see no such thing......the only thing i see on the screen is the name of the patch i used last....so basically as if nothing has happened.

The midi connections are correct for sure, because when i press a key, i hear a virus sound....so i dont think its that.

The manual says to make sure i turn off Midi clock so it doesnt interfere with the uploading, but i find no such option in cubase's transport/midi menu....

i was wondering if anyone has any experience with this? Im starting to get really bored with the regular factory patches! help please!!!!

Transport -> sync setup

It's there just untick all the boxes in 'midi clock destinations' also 'midi timecode destinations'

Use a short midi cable, make the tempo slow around 50bpm.

Make sure the midi track you made can play the virus, then dump.

Unplug any midi keyboards or master keyboards or midi controllers, they sometimes output midi sens data.
