Let me know how it goes Doc - is this the magic cure to end all problems?

I am sure the spanish manual will be very handy.

Will do. I will test it out and report back comparing what (if any) changes have been made in respect to my most recent reported list of issues. I honestly would be surprised if some of my discussions with Access are included in this release as it has only been about a week and a half that I talked to them. Keep fingers crossed.

Super, their doing great getting these updates out.

(of course the ideal would be a machine which didnt need so many in the first place, but hey its a kick ass synth)

The update is telling me something about "USB selective suspend" on my USB hub - and more Informations to be found on a webseite ...

"This page will help you to troubleshoot your Virus TI's software installation and USB connection.

This page is currently under construction."

Fantastic! This REALLY helps me! Thanks Access ... but I believe in you and disable the feature (although the Virus isn't connected to a USB hub).

But it's great to get an Update on Sunday!

Cheers!
glen

glen, by chance did you try the installation by plugging the usb cable into the usb port directly rather than through a hub? perhaps you can bypass the error that way, get your ti updated, and then replug it back into the hub. (all lectures about using a usb hub with the ti aside  )

Hey :)

Quoting myself "although the Virus isn't connected to a USB hub" - it isn't connected to a USB hub - it's directly connected to the computer! That's why I'm quite confused ;)

But anyway - thanks Doc - , the update works - although this message was quite confusing :)

Cheers,
glen

Ahh, I see what you are saying now (I finally got a chance to install it). I forget the exact msg, but what I believe it is essentially saying is that most computers have a power saving feature where if the usb port hasn't been used for a period of time, then the computer shuts down power to that port to conserve power consumption. So for example, if you have a ti connected to a usb port, but haven't used it for a while (say a couple of hours) the computer will shut down power to that port and that could possibly cause issues with the ti. Just not sure why they used the term hub in the message. you did the right thing in turning off the power saving feature.

Are we as well, aren't we ;) Checking the Access website every minute for updates :)

... say a couple of hours ...

*rofl* yes :) Anyway, you're right ... but they should comment it a better way or the supporting website should work if they link it ...

just confirmed that the patch displayed on the VC and the TI are now in sync (regardless of which one you use to select the sound) :) :)

Is this with a specific project?

Midi_Glider

No. simply an empty project with nothing but the VC loaded.

The arp performance seems to be tighter in general 1.07 but is always late on playback and exports (about 46ms late in regards to the midi trigger). non arpd notes seem to be perfetcly played back and exported.

I`m really tearing my hair off about this...any ideas?

Best,
midi.

Were using the MOTU 828 mk2.And we find the lower you set your soundcard Latency the better/tighter your arpeggiator will run.
I wish i had hair

Thanks girl next door. but changing the latency on my HDSP9652 doesn`t seem to make any difference in regards to the arp being late. still a constant of 46ms on export in any latency.

With Logic 5.5.1 there is a Plug in delay compensation tick box within one of the preferences.
Has Nuendo got that??

Yep. as I mentioned, its only arped notes that are being late when receiving clock from host. single notes are being compensated perfectly.

there seem to be something funky going on with the clock reception in the Ti.

Thanks for the link. I have some considerable experience in building Daws, and my current one is pretty well built and tweaked...

I have no issues with it except the one with the Ti.

still, could be something I`ve missed...

In SX3 and Logic 5.5.1, I am finding that Arp playback and export is fine now - at least any variation in arp timing is within a few samples at the most.

Tell me, does the differential increase/decrease according to the tempo?

Midi_Glider
27.11.2005, 11:59 PM
No. the offset is independent to the bpm setting. always @46ms.

but here is a really strange thing I`v just found out, Ben: the audio offset is actually more related to the actual Bars in Nuendo rather then the midi notes themselves!! i.e: if the arp notes are far enough from the the bar positions in the song, the export wave seems to be in sync with the midi notes...

what can you make of this?!... 8O

midi.
