This is what ive been waiting for - an affordable true analog monosynth with its own keyboard. Until now its only been a handful of expensive rackmounts or mega expensive Voyagers. Now Dave has finally come up trumps and made a 37 keyboard version of his very successful Evolver desktop.

All yours for approx $1100

Hmmm...

$1100 on a new mono synth, or I could buy a vintage analogue poly AND a vintage analogue mono synth.

I know what I would choose....

Which vintage analog poly are you referring to?

Im getting the impression your thinking of 1 Osc poly's and mono's.

Id take the 4 oscilators of the Evolver over those type of alternatives. Besides....Id like to try out some new analog synths...I tried/used all the best old ones

I would never pay the price they are asking for.. I would buy a Pro-one, MS10 and a SH101/MC202 instead of just that one machine!

But then again that's just me

I think a Pro-One would be a good choice....but personally i wouldnt bother with the likes of 101's or MS10's.....not if i already had the P1.

There definitely is a want factor for the Evolver, but I think along the same lines as the other guys - specially considering the prices here.

Nice synth though.

Before people get a wrong impression of the Evolver sound, I'd like to add the disclaimer from my site:

Please keep in mind that the above sound examples are not representative for the unit. The Evolver does NOT always sound harsh, distorted and weird and is NOT always detuned ;-)
The sounds only demonstrate my way of programming and playing.
In fact the Evolver has an excellent tuning stability and one can program all kinds off analog stuff as well

Whats the difference between the synth engines in this and the rack evolver?

Ie is this a rack with a *very* expensive keyboard built in? :)

There is no difference, the sound engine is the same as in the Desktop Evolver. And it's not the keyboard that is expensive but the countless encoders ;)

Thats true - it does have alot of knobs on it ;)

No funky blue wheel tho

Actually - thats the one thing missing on the TI keyboard - transparent backlit wheels :)

The module would be nice but I want more control (knobs). The keyboard on the other hand costs too much for me.

but your geting much less control this way,the mono evolver keyboard layout is made aspecialy for it... it is made so you dont have to go thru any manus
