So what's on everyone's wish list?

I've heard a few rumors regarding Roland releasing a few new items. Also something about Yamaha getting into the software market.
The Roland rumors have more strength behind them though.

Haven't heard about Clavia, or Korg yet.
I really look forward to Namm.

Fucking gear lust!

I don't want to see new software plugins but hardware synths. It's a shame to see that korg and others make only software synths (in addition to those tritons and the old ms2000). Then one day when you have to upgrade your OS they may not support the old software anymore and your investment becomes useless. Hardware works in every OS with midi + audio. That's the reason why I invest only in hardware synths these days. I also hate to read about people having to pay for software companies every now and then to be up to date and even to be at least able to download and authorize the plugins which they already own. People are hating Waves for example alot right now due to their WUP system. I have invested only in a sequencer and a few good plugins. And the fact that almost every new software synth needs the newest computer to run more than 2 instances fluently is IMO ridiculous.

Sorry for the rant. :D

I want to see hardware synths and maybe an update for logic. :)

Yep, I doubt that would happen too. But I would love some of the Fantom features on other gear though - specially that sample back function that keeps anything you played in the past 40secs (depending on RAM) in memory, just in case you wanna keep it. Really fun idea.

I've heard Roland has a SH201 planned. As far as the rumors go, it's based on the SH32 with more features.

Anyway, not long until we find out for sure what the companies have ready. :D

I agree for sure. I think Korg is due for another hardware synth release - well I hope anyway.

Yah, exactly.. That's a great feature and the sound is just lovely - but Roland just releases bloody expensive stuff (atleast the kind of gear you want.. Fantom Xx/V-Synth).

Another groovebox-thingy then? Bl?rfgh.. If they were to release that SH201 it sure will be something similar to the MC909

The good news from Roland. The most I wait for is their new flagship Tera to battle Alesis Fusion and Korg Oasys combining Fantom X-series with V-synth (including improved JP80X0 engine) and VK organ engine. Although I'm afraid the price will be pretty insane - around 4000?, but better than Oasys anyways.

Edit: I wonder why I'm waiting for anything because I don't have money anyway.

On the Korg site it says they have over 12 new products to launch...

For one, I would love a Z2 if they ever made one (following on from the Z1), but I've been waiting for one of those for many a year.
Their new "STR-1" physical modelling plucked string plugin for their Oasys sounds great.

Unfortunately the thread which has most of the info was removed from the Fantom forum! I think someone got in trouble...

The SH201 (from memory now) was a stand alone synth. I think they said it had keys.

There was some other info about a new MC thing though. Something about a new workstation thing too. Damn, I wish I paid more attention to the thread now!

I am looking forward to Korg. A new Z2 would be nice indeed.

Unfortunately I don't have a heap of money to spend though. My sights are still set on a V-Synth.

I have an SH32 and it sure could do with some more freakin features. I used to think it was good till I got my hands on some real gear (virus, jp8080, nova etc. The SH32 just can't compete

Great Arpeggiator though.

I would like the gents at UAD to embrace PCI-Express in the very near future so I can get a couple of UAD-1's for my G5!

Maybe Apple to release a range of specifically designed stripped down versions of their DualCore G5's that can be used only as Nodes to share processing power at a reasonable price.

Oh and as already stated... what about a fully integrated working OS for my Virus TI. Having taken the plunge in owning a TI against advice - and putting up with numerous glitches, crashes, "artefacts" and latency issues to name but a few. I have come to decide that Access owe us big time - I hope that now Xmas is out of the way that the hardworking boys at Access pull out all of the stops to get this finally solved.

I will be most disappointed to hear at NAMM that a USB 2/Firewire TIT (TI Two) version will be released by Access and that they are simply giving up the original TI. I hope that Access will allow owners of the original TI to send their units back to be hardware upgraded for a very reasonable price.

Mind you it feels that I have already purchased and play regularly with a right TIT already!

Ive set aside money for an MEK.....I wonder if anything else will be of interest in that price range....
