[Multi] 2 flavors - Where are they?

In the online hype it says:
The multi mode and multi/single mode structures have been streamlined and refined.
I haven't been able to find the two separate multi modes.

Is the perhaps multi and seq mode?

Multi is good for layers, splits etc.
Seq mode is a variation of multi that assigns a part to each midi channel (16 parts). Or 16 singles.
