Interesting. Would anyone that has it up and running like to share their thoughts and opinions on 1.0.9...

Ten - great!! What areas in particular are good?
the first audio exports via vcntrl were time accurate. But I got one hanging note. Firmware version is 1.1 beta 3 at the moment, the arp has a problem in the first 4 loopings but then it gets solid.

DIY. In relation to the ARP timing issue - is this a major improvement for you?

Are you pre-rolling it for at least 1 bar beforehand?
I can't say that it's a major improvement, but it gave me the impression that I can work now with virus control and leave the midi cables. The overall timing was better than 1.0.8 but I think the arp timing needs improvement. Even if I pre-roll for 1 bar, I myst wait for 8 bars before the arp plays what it should but I get the worst timing if I select up+dn mode with 2 octaves. Then in every midi event it turns from up+dn to dn+up randomly.
I have also noticed that when tweaking some parameters in virus control (eg ring mod) led to silent patches, something that didn't happened when tweaking the hardware..

If you mean Ringmod on the FX page, this is normal, so long as you don't have any signal at the inputs.
No, i've noticed that on the main page but maybe I'm wrong.

what kind of setup do you use?
best, marc
athlon xp 3000+
gigabyte ga7vax with via kt 400
1 gig kingston 333 cl3
emu 1820m
windows xp sp1a
cubase 2.2.0.33
windows xp sp1a
cubase 2.2.0.33
doh - you're using cubase 2.2 ! - i would be very surprised if you would get any other result with the arpeggiator...
you _need_ to use cubase sx 3.1 in order to make this work. and by the way, you should use XP service pack 2 as well.
marc
I know that sx2 is not officially supported, but I was using the TI with midi since 109 and got the same result.I'll try it with midi again and tell you my impressions.
As for sx 3.01 and sp2, I have a rock solid system which has to crash for years and I dont want to mess it with sp2 which needs a clean windows install and 2 days of reformating and re-installing programs in my hard disk.
Cubase sx 3.0.1 is pretty unstable especially with my 2.2 projects. As I am on a cd release deadline the last thing I imagine is building my system from the begining. Can you recommend a specific microsoft update for usb2 before sp2? I'd like to give it a try
I've just tested the arp behavior with sx 3.1.1.994 (up+dn mode) and got the
same result with sx 2.2.0.33.

One other improvement I have noticed is that previously VirusControl would Be unresponsive and take ages to redraw during every Hardware knob twist. This is no longer the case - very smooth!
So far so good with OS1.0.9
Looking forward to passing inputs through those filters via USB...

working in Sonar 5.01...
patch sync is much quicker now (<5 seconds) seems to only grab changes.
VC is MUCH smoother responding to changes on the hardware. when you twist a knob, you know it!
latency is slightly better (but still mostly unplayable for percussive or sharp attack synths)
didnt notice this before but the decay and release segments are non-linear, while the attack is linear. maybe thats just graphics?
freeze still not working (known issue though)

DIY: The Ring mod on the fx page is the ring mod accessed by pressing lower fx edit (I think). The internal osc ring mod is on the OSC page.

Please could you send me a copy of the project? I'd like to test it here.
It was a test project which I've deleted but I can make a new soon.

Everything seems to be OK...Had a small Graphic problem on the Virus control while changing from Osc page to Easy page some of the Graphics stayed from the Osc page making the Easy page look abit strange (Double graphics) apart from that...Great stuff
is the midi timing any better for MIDI 1/4inch jack crew?

we are not aware of a MIDI timing problem using conventional MIDI. if you have a problem, could you please send a project which illustrates the problem to me (ms [at] access-music.de)?

Marc,
it was very funny to post the "Nuendo is not supported" in the Nuendo forum. All members were completely sure that it should be no difference between SX and Nuendo. Hehe ! Good that Midi_Glider found this difference...
Hmm. Not too funny, to be honest. Is there any chance that Nuendo will be supported or is the problem inside of Nuendo ?
I can?t use SX because it simply doens?t offer the post production features I need. But of course, the TI works great with SX. A bad situation.
Regards,
Matthias
Cant say Ive noticed any difference using the TI in Nuendo or SX.

Oooops. Which MIDI-interface ?
"are not aware of a MIDI timing problem using conventional MIDI. if you have a problem, could you please send a project which illustrates the problem to me (ms [at] access-music.de)?"
I'll send one through, but it's every project I work on,
Basically Midi timing will drift out of sync after you have a few bars in cycle and it's cycled round maybe 2 times.
I use it via usb only.

hmmm...is that true for arp playing\exports as well?
or perhaps its SP2 related? marc mentioned something about the TI requiring SP2 for Nuendo.
What service pack are you on, Matthias?
Best,
midi.

Its the System 6000 I'd like to see a picky of...The single most expensive bit of kit i got is the Ti (you could buy 6 Ti's with the money from the 6000) http://www.thomann.de/thoiw2_tc_reverb_6000_prodinfo.html?sn=785a0eb406f40746d7dbcbdf5feb3200
Ummmmmmmm can anyone smell something :?:

Since using 1.09, the arpeggio sounds a bit different. It sounds like it adds an extra note the arp. Hard to explain. Its like a longer note comes after every 8 beats (but not always)...
