I was just on Access's website and there is a ton of shit from NAMM and every where else about the Virus TI , but nothing about the Classic desktop (which is also a pretty new product from Access)......I don't know about you , but, I paid a grand for my Virus (Which for a regular working guy like me is a lot of fuckin' money) Sorry I did not throw you another $1,600 but FUCK YOU Access! I am not saying anything against TI user's........it's just this corparate bullshit that pisses me off.........same reason I will never buy a Harley Davidson. SEEYA!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what the problem is. The Classic is a re-packaged Virus B and the OS for it is currently stable and bug free. They aren't going to be adding any new features to it, ever. You've still got a very good synth but had to pay considerably less for it than a TI.

I know it is a reissued B.....but shit they could have supported it a little better......shit even the demo they use for it "endorphines" .......they could have at least came up with a new demo......I mean it is a Virus, and does have a kick ass sound to it (and "Endorphines" sucks, IMO). It just pisses me off (THE GREED).......Yes the TI is cool........Yes the TI is deeper than the Classic. But for a grand a piece (and I know that I am not the only one that has bought one).........SHAME ON YOU ACCESS!!!!!

No shit the Classic is a finished product......so once the TI is completly upgraded (and all the bugs are worked out of the O.S.) then should Access stop marketing / supporting it (Espeacially if they are still selling it). Or should they put all of thier focus on what ever new product they are selling for the highest price! I know it seems like I am completly dogging out Access and you for that fact ( I am sorry that is not my goal.......I am trying to make the point of that if you are selling a product for $1,000 you should......put a little more support behind it.....not just put all your energy into the product that is selling for the most money)! I really love my Virus Classic desktop and am thankfull to Access for selling it ........ Well hopefully you get my point......SEEYA!!!!

Virus Classic is just a renamed Virus B (which is discontinued) and the reason why Access sell it is that there are so many people who want to buy a cheaper/older Virus model, not the flagship model. And it's quite obvious that it won't have any major OS updates because the current os for Virus B works very well and doesn't need updates. And they are already using the dsp of the synth to the maximum. If you take a look at the Virus B's history, you can see that there were lots of os updates and even the reverb wasn't included at first. They added it later among other features. There are still many studios which use Virus B and haven't even upgraded to C because the B is already a very good synth and gives you the classic Virus sound without any compromises.

In some sense I feel you, Being a novice to access products until about a year ago when I began watching the T1 debut, I was imediatley "sold up" into the t1 models thinking that the classic would be a sub par investment......how much of that was due to marketing hype? About 50% I am sure....Sometimes We get so caught up in tech/specs that we forget the great music made using traditional midi in/out into a midi converter and then into the host computer......
I have pulled out a lot of my early astral projection (1995+) cd's latley to remind my self not to get caught up in it......
I am a working guy as well, with kids an a mountaneering gear addiction as well......

Access will be putting all their time into the TI, trying to make it work properly for a start :lol:

Have you even needed support for the Classic? I'd have thought the OS was pretty much bug free by now.
And why would they market heavily anything but their flagship product?

You don't see ANY other companies launching any "new" things for old machines at NAMM...
Anyone reading the product overview would see that the Classic is a machine collecting all versions of the Virus up until and including the Virus B into one slick neat package; not a "new" machine.
You imply that there should be updates, ads, etc. for your newly aquired machine, -which is understandable- (since it may be new to YOU). It is now, however, two years later and with the Virus C even being discontinued, I don't think that the B series will be enhanced much. AND, I am absolutely positive that if you found something WRONG with the software, Access would have it fixed in a heartbeat.
Personally, I wouldn't categorize Access Music into the "corparate bullshit" section; they are FAR from it! I have followed this company since the original Virus, and they ALWAYS took good care of me as a customer.
(And no, I do NOT work for Access Music! :lol: )

I'm still using 98!
Just downloaded all the updates and files I could find for
it last week.
I even installed it on my new DAW as buying an English copy of
XP over here will cost a fortune. Also many shops say it
will take weeks (if not months) to order.
And to keep up with my 90s image, I'm still running Cubase VST3.5
as SX3 won't run on 98.
Tell you what though, I should have upgraded from my
Celeron 800 with 128meg years ago! I've noticed a
slight difference to say the least. Hehehe.
