This is probably a hardware fault isnt it? The other outputs are fine but there is a lot of background noise coming from the headphone socket, even with the volume all the way down... Its been this way since i had it a couple years ago and never really bothered me too much but now im about to sell it, i need to know if it is a hardware fault. Would this be too difficult to get fixed outside of access as its not under warranty, or is there anything other than a hardware fault that would cause this? Thanks...

Same happens with my Indigo, but I read somewhere that was a usual hardware bug in the Indigo 1 series...

The hiss noise in the headphone jack is normal for the Virus C (I confirmed this with Access since my C's headphone jack is hissy too). My Waldorf MicroQ is the same way and is also normal. It's extremely annoying though. Not sure why they were built this way. Fortunately, the TI's headphone jack is quiet and clean. - Jesse

I bought a virus KC back in the summer of 2003.....and it had a hissy headphone socket....

I then got another virus KC in feb 2004 and it had a totally clean sounding headphone output....

The reality is, is that during the life of a production run....some components get changed....usually for the better. Im pretty convinced that around the beginning of 2004 Access introduced a better quality headphone socket

I never had this issue with my headphone socket on my KC, got it right when they first came out too.
